मी १९६७ते१९७०यांच्या समोर(४~५फूटावर)बसून ४वेळा त्यांचे गायन ऐकून तृप्त झालोय.नंतर त्यांची अभंगवाणी ऐकली.१९९३साली सवाई गंधर्व कार्यक्रमाचे शेवटी त्यांचे गाणे झाल्यावर त्यांचेही थोडा संवादहि साधला.हे ऐकून पुनः श्रवणानंदाचे,सुख अनुभवले.असे दैवीगुणसंपन्न विभूति भारतास लाभून गानरसिकाना जिवंतपणीच स्वर्गसुख दिले.हे जगाचे सौभाग्याच!

Beautiful conversation with Pandit Bhimsen ji by Dr Ashok. Great interaction, I loved it, worth going through time and again for understanding powerful voice of Pandit Bhimsen. Thank you so much Dr Ashok sir.

Thanks to Sangeetveda for upload of whole conversation at one place. This gives picture of Bhimsenji's journey in music, his efforts, riyaz of several hours each day, the thinking that went in his mind and many more things. No body could be better person than Ashokaji Ranade for this interview. Most important is this is most useful and must for students of Indian classical music- juast an example is the difference in 'riyaz' and'what is sung in baithak'.He has sung abhangs of Marathi sants which are immensely popular. Hearing Bhimsenji's abhangs and other varieties also always gives me goosebumps. How all other thoughts just go out of mind when listening him.

what can some one comment when Bhimsen sings. Just listen.

Are you out of your mind?!! He was the greatest musicologist of his time! Many classical singers couldn't match his knowledge and wisdom in Hindustani.

@@smjforu I dont think you get the point of it, classical musicians are not daily soap artists or pop singers who are bred for the purpose of gaining publicity and trained for such interviews. They are very modest, dedicated and regimented artists who prefer to keep to themselves and never put up an ostentatious display or their art. It is hence imperative for the interview to get them comfortable and engage with them at various levels both verbally and psychologically, something that Dr. Ranade does very well, he might seem a bit intrusive, but believe me I've seen much worse, but it serves a purpose.
