If the thumris whose compositions he is singing, Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan didn't get it one, don't u think it's an offence beyond words on ur part to make this kind of shallow misleading statement!!

This uncanny performance of Ajoy Chakraborty may safely be dubbed a bio-digest of Indian Raagas. No superlative is sufficient to justify a praise for such a timeless giant player of Indian music.

Most other classical music singers sing raagas as if they are wrestling them. They make the whole thing look like a stunt. Ajoy Chakrabarty sings raagas as if he is romancing them. So gentle, so subtle and yet so convincing! He is simply unique.

Ajoy Chakraborty was born in the district of West Bengal, India and won the hearts of millions of connoisseurs from all over the world....🎉

ONLY PANDIT AJOY CHAKRABORTY CAN SING SPONTANEOUSLY.

He deserves Bharat Ratna. Jo pakad suron ke upare pt Ajoy Chakraborty ji ka hai sayad kisi aur ka nahin hai. Bilkul bhi nahin ho sakta kisika .

24:18 onwards is so entertaining. Seeing such a great scholar share his knowledge in an effortless way is heart warming and very educative !!! and the best part is that he does it almost every time, sharing insights... and I'm so grateful that most of it is in english. Panditji really knew what he was doing, preserving the knowledge and not creating any barreers for us foreigners who are truly interested in Hindustani and particularly Khayal singing.

Guru jee you are truly an asset of Indian classical music! Such effortless singing in Hindustani classical music I have only seen in you. You deserve “Bharat Ratna”! Koti- koti pranaam! 🙏🙏

Gifted with extra-ordinary control over SUR and SWARA', and such melodius voice, no type of singing is beyond PT. AJAY CAKRBARTY'S realm.

These are some of Ajoy Chakraborty's most inspired recordings. He brought such an aesthetic sensitivity to all he sang during 1980's that is awe-inspiring and other-worldly. Who among the young artists can sing Pilu like this. It is an ode in meditation. A sheer sonic nirvana.

So soothing for ears ! So effortlessly he is singing ! Treat to listen. Treat to watch him reaching down to Kharaj of Mandra saptak (lower octave) and then reaching till higher Sa of Taar saptak (high octave) between @51:00 and 51:46. Pranaam !!

Magnetic. Seemingly effortless almost playful ease in a private mehfil..showcases his immense talent, love of music but even then it requires years of relentless sadhana with the great JPG as his guide. Jemon taan, temon thumrir gayaki bojaye rakha ( thumak, pukaar, tonal quality,....) - ilim aar talim na thakle hoye na. Wonderful. Thank you for sharing this video., Certainly deserves endless praise. One of the greats.

This is clearly vintage Ajoy Chakraborty. This is not exactly "Basant Bahar" concert but somewhere in Fremont in a private gathering. In 1987, I was back in India (very far from the bay area). Very unfortunate to have missed so many of these rich listening experiences. Clearly, panditji was having a lot of fun going through the raag-mala, based on Pahadi. Samar Saha was on tabla. At 38:12, he transitioned to Nand, which he did not utter but sang a few lines of a famous bandish. The Hamshadhwani was sung at the request of my friend, Nagesh Avadhani, whom I haven't seen for more than thirty years. Hamshadhwani was great, but I like his rendition of Vatapi ganapathim vajeham. God bless panditji!

इसमें बीच में जो पहाड़ी का हिस्सा पंडितजी ने गाया है अपने आप में खूब अच्छा है। कभी-कभी एक या दो पीस कलाकार का ऐसा होता है जो उसमे उसके पूरे जीवन की तपस्या की बात हो जाती है या फिर उस कलाकार को बहुत ज्यादा देखना या सुनना पड़ता। यूट्यूब के माध्यम से से विशिष्ट कला याअपने पसंद की कला को देखना सुनना सहज हो गया है वरना टीवी सिनेमा या रेडियो से तो ये संगीत जा चुका है। Anyway, अच्छी कला पर संगीत प्रेमियों का प्रसन्न होना , उनके हक का होना है।

Just one correction.... He doesn't deserves Bharat Ratna, Bharat Ratna deserves him... Same as Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Ji, he also didn't deserved Bharat Ratna, he was far above than that... Bharat Ratna deserved him.🤗☺️
