We really need to take note from the Pacific Islanders & continue to embrace our dancing culture . I wish tinikling & the candle dance needs to be taught during elementary

What do you mean take note from Pacific Islanders? Candle dance is southeast Asian dance originally came from Indonesia while tinkling came for north east India. Anyway these dances are being taught in school PE class,

Naalala ko na ang talented ko noong elementary ako. Haha. Tsk. nakakamis. Now I'm 27 and I rarely see student's performing this.

@@aleihs19 I am. But I get fed up with people blaming foreigners all the time. Like in my class we were asked what was the cause for poverty most people answered colonialism. I answered lack of jobs and education so that people have to go abroad. I did read what you said and I did comprehend it. But saying colonial mentality it means blaming the one's who brought it here. It should no longer be called that it should be called Filipino mentality at this point.

+Masha No. It's earlier than that. LOL.... It's what distinguishes the Filipina dress from others. It's a characteristic that identifies our nationality. It's very classic.

Hahahaha one is cheating ... the first lady in pink watch when her head well tilt on the side and the glass is still on her head lol....velcro maybe on a pin but it is so obvious. The glass should have fallen down if there is nothing stuck to it on her head.

Actually at the end of the dance the dancers are supposed to pick that candle glass from her head and hold it together with the previous 2 candle glasses on their hands, to show to the public that it is not "pinned" or held down by a velcro .

What Tittle of song??? Rispondi · Abby Gutierrez 1 mese fa What Tittle of song??? Rispondi · Masha 3 mesi fa Beautiful dancing! Have the traditional costumes always been so 80s style? With the big shoulders pads/ design? Just curious... Rispondi · eigen 3 mesi fa (modificato) +Masha Those are "butterfly sleeves" and are a principal feature of a traditional dress called "terno," which evolved out of the Maria Clara gown and "baro at saya." Those in the video look costumey (though they are nice costumes), because they were made for that purpose. If you google "terno dress" you will find more elegantly-made ternos that may be used in formal gatherings. Rispondi · Masha 3 mesi fa (modificato) Interesting! This is not authentic Filipino folk dancing. You should not mix Pandanggo sa Ilaw and Binasuan. Binasuan is danced with liquid in the glass.
