Lipase is secreted by PACC tumors so it is a useful screening marker. Not so much with PDAC.

My name is Jami and my first cousin got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at age 50 with a BRCA2 +. My brother, was diagnosed at age 50, had a Whipple. I was diagnosed with it at age 50, BRCA2 +. We are all surviving and have no signs of cancer anywhere. Everyone I tell this to is in shock. Would be interested in being a case study.

@@nano2424 hello, it's kinda funny...I had been having upper back pain for a while that just wasn't relieved by NSAIDS, heat, cold, massage, chiro and inversion table. I tried it all. But what BROUGHT me to the ER was that I could not play my first person shooter games properly!! I was hunching forward, rocking, and finally stood up in my ONESIE pajamas and said, "Take me to the ER, I am sick of this!"....was there for 9 hours, 2 CT's, hundreds of pokes and ONE TYLENOL the entire time. The ER doc was green, seemed very new, and he said, "I'm so sorry before telling me what was wrong!!"...when he told me, like a 5 year old child, I went screaming down the hallways till I found a safe corner to cry by myself. After 3 minutes of agony, I decided to pull my 'big girl panties up' and handle this like an educated adult. I calmly walked down those same hallways, nodding and apologizing for my behavior. I found out I was a stage 1A and have not cried nor stressed since.

Well too little, too late for my Dad who died at 71 of it July 3. His birthday would have been the 9th. He was in 2 different hospital systems in Worcester, MA three times in 6 months for seemingly unrelated issues. Then, Kaboom! Stage 4 pancreatic cancer June 24. It had spread to the liver. He left this world July 3.
