Enjoying your videos. I just bought a Panasonic RX-5030 (not LE). It's really clean but the FM/AM knob switch broke off. I can still change it with my hand. Do you know where I can get another switch? Thanks.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. These are great units, and I'm sure you'll enjoy yours. With regards to the switch, I'm afraid a donor part is likely your best bet. If you can change it manually, then the switch is ok at least - but the actuator is a little plastic stalk, so even fabricating a knob and attaching it may be tricky. And as they are seated onto the circuit board (and then pinned out to power the relevant circuits), finding a new replacement will be near impossible. Keep an eye out on eBay etc, and for now you may just have to switch manually for a while.

Recently bought a lovely 8 track player but they left the plug on and it destroyed all the front brushed metal.

It never ceases to amaze me. Easy to just remove the plug if the cable is hard wired to the unit. And as for removable leads... Power leads left plugged in - damaging the connector during transport, cable wrapped around the unit causing scuffing; plugs smashing through the casing - it never ends. Sorry to hear of your damage. I try not to include power leads when I sell, as they're only a couple of quid, but the damage is irreparable - so it's nicer to buy a new one, especially as they are rarely original anyway. Thanks for watching.

@@retro_restostwice I've asked sellers to remove them or even just chop them off if they can't be bothered to unwire them but they've still left them on. You can't win with some people they just don't bother mate.
