Классная вещь! Это же фактически и видео- и DAT-аудио магнитофон в одном аппарате! Очень удобно. Жалко что он такой редкий . Был бы более распространён, его и сейчас можно было бы применять.

Another beautiful deck. I only have Sony SLV-R5 and SLV-R7 without PCM capability so as I am transferring my DVDs and Blu Rays to SVHS I've avoided doing music discs. If I had one of these PCM capable decks I could convert my music discs too so its a goal of mine this year. Btw you have so many beautiful machines but I'm sad that you play them back on a modern PC monitor, I hope you can get a nice CRT, maybe a Sony PVM would be ideal to show off the picture quality that comes out of SVHS. I always remind people that bandwidth and resolution does not equal picture quality. I get angry when I see "HD upscales" of beautiful film and video from the past with all the grain scrubbed and the edges "cleaned up", so ugly.

How does it record digital audio while retaining the capability to record video at the same time? Is it a deep-layer recording system like the analog FM hi-fi audio system? Which heads does it use to record it? All PCM audio recorders/processors I've seen so far encode the digital audio stream as a black and white video signal. This is new to me!

Да, вот мне тоже этот момент не понятен. Реально, если аппарат одновременно пишет И видео, и PCM audio, и FM hi-fi audio, то не понятно КАК это осуществляется одновременно на ленте? Как и где эти виды записи разделены на ленте? Вот бы узнать....

Hi Crashbandicoot4everr ! I don't know well about this technology , but from the circuit structure , I see that after being processed/encoded, the DA signal will be modulated at a certain frequency range. This signal belongs to a separate bandwidth range and is mixed with the RF Video signal and recorded on the tape. When played back, the DA signal will be filtered from the RF mixed signal read on the tape and processed vice versa. In the NV-DX1, the DA and RF Video signals are mixed and used the same video head pair , however in the Victor HR-Z1 or Hitachi VT-PCM1, it seems that the DA feature is equipped with a separate pair of video heads. This is somewhat similar to Beta Hi-Fi technology ?
