Thanks. I wish I could give you a line of demarcation between the old camera and the new one. Unfortunately I'm still working with a mix of footage. I can say that videos filmed in my office where you see my face are on the new camera. So far so good. I'm satisfied with it.

Are you able to record your video and transfer it to your iMovie to edit videos using the WiFi? I am curious if you are allowed to do it that way or you have to take out the SIM card to edit videos. Thanks for sharing and hope you understand my question.

Few questions: What's the max length the Camera can record using the 64GB SD Card? Does it have a pause button for recording? Does the time and date show up on the videos when you're done recording them? And if so, can you remove them?

Can you advise how well the wiFi / remote app works with it? I've seen some Canon users say that wifi & app do not work well for controlling the camera.. I was wondering how the Panasonic version performs - with regard to Start/ Stop and zoom functions? thanks!

I'm looking into replacing my old camera but I'd like for the camera to have the recorded file to be longer so it doesn't separate the film into pieces after it hits 4.7 GBs, is it possible to override that setting?

Hey Nice vidéo ! Whats the autonomy of the battery if i record in 4k With no interruption..?

I have used this for a few years now. I really like it. My only dislike is the night mode infrared. It doesn't keep focus nearly as good as the Sony AX-33. I love the weight and zoom on this camera. The night mode really kicks the Sony's butt if I need still shot, but you can't move the camera at all or you won't be able to see what you're recording.

On long videos such as lectures, classes or sermons, make sure you line up your film clip numbers in order in your film editing software.

I love this cam...but it now keeps shutting down during recording. It blames it on the CD card. I bought an SD card at Walmart and it worked perfectly. but I lost that SD card and bought better high-end SD cards and with each one after so long it shuts down. How can I solve this problem? All the SD cards have been formatted through the cam. Thanks.

How do I view the 30 minutes I have recorded? Actually, I figured it out. You have to tap at the camera button that has a camera/play sign next to the right of the shoe adapter release. This button is above the power button and wifi button. I love this camcorder!

Have you checked out new JVC everio 4k? It is cheaper but maybe video quality is not as good. Not sure.

I have not checked it out. I used to use an standard definition JVC Everio when I started this channel though and it was a trusty camera.

on this camcorder im having issues with my external monitor does anyone have any tips? it works when not recording but as soon as i record my screen goes red. Thanks is advance

I remember outlast 2 because of the camera style

does better card give you more clear video or do cards not matter for that so much

So what’s the difference between the AVCHD and the MP4/iFrame? They both have 1080p and a little 50 next to it.

Though both use the same video codecs, the only difference is the container format they use. Video and Audio codecs - AVCHD uses MPEG-4 AVC/H. 264 as video codec and Dolby Digital AC-3 as audio codec, whereas, MP4 uses the same video codec as AVCHD but for audio, it uses MPEG-4 AAC-LC codec.

I still have this camera. But it's no longer turning on :(

I can't. I do not know how to look at my videos. I tried for hours an hour's an hour's to try to pull up my videos that i'm recording and can't do it.

This freaking camera is cumbersome as hell to get anything onto my phone so I can publish to KZread. Wifi connection with the app is unstable, and when I eventually got to the video I wanted to publish through my phone it said I had to convert it to mp4 before transferring it to my phone. How the hell do I do that? Its not in the manual. Lol... just frustrated.

Do you think 256gb sd card will work with this camera?? Or it has to be less

hi man i just got it yesterday..just wondering how to film over 2hours nonstop despite the sd card .the battery only last about 1hour..and the manual says it will not charge during the filming so am thinking of using battery bank dont know whether it will works or not ..do u have any idea of that ?>

Hi ... I bought my VX-870M in 2015 in NZ ...I believe the M denotes to it being the pal version (25fps) ...... I've often used a power bank Battery to power the camera while recording on it ....works great ...... I always record in 4K and , believe me , the quality is way better than 1080P

You could also bypass the battery by plugging it into an outlet if one is available.

I actually took my battery out today and powered the camera up using extension cord from power point to record a timelapse... wasn't impressed with the quality of the timelapse

How much

When recording in 4K, the stabilization works poorly, at 1080p excellent.

Is there a newer version of this?

@@TechHarvest Yep, I investigated since and found that out..Odd that a high end product has no hard drive, but lower end panasonic camcorders have both hard drive and sd card access

This Camcorder records in 9 minute segments. You have to use a video editor to join them. ( Pain in the Ass ).

What does that mean? If I’m recording for 1/2 or 1 hour straight it will cut it up into segments? Are there any other major problems that would make me not buy this camcorder? Can I download to my windows 8.1 pc to any video editing program or do I have to use the editing software it comes with? I’m new to the digital camcorders and want to video my 87 yr old mother answering questions about her life. She has cancer so it needs to be kind if a quick decision. Thanks!

@@lisacobb7525 Yes it makes segments that are 9 minutes long. so a 1 HR. movie would be 6 segments that you would have to seam together using software like Thundersoft Video Editor. No other issues, i like my camcorder.

Kinda giving it a nice look lol. I remember how i had to painstakingly fix all interlaced video i recorded on vacation in resolve cus the camera had set it self to 1080i and i did not notice the 1080i till i got back home. Atleast it was 1080i 50. Since then i double check everytime that the camera is set to 1080p 50 . And the highest bitrate is on.

Can you give me your old camera ...i also love to make videos but i have no money to buy this im a student☺️
