PANAMA TUNA - Atunero cerquero congelador - Fishing vessel part 10

Panama Tuna, the largest tuna boat in the world, is located in Panamanian waters. It remains anchored in the old naval station of Rodman.
The immense ship is operated by the group of Spanish shipowners Albacora.
The company has registered its new and largest fishing vessel in Panama, which has 26 to 28 crew and rooms for 32 people.
The tuna boat is 115 meters long, 16.6 meters wide and was launched to the sea at the Barreras shipyard in Vigo, Spain. The Panama Tuna has broken the record held by another vessel of the same company, the "Albacora Uno", of 105 meters in length.
The vessel has the capacity to store 2,100 tons of tuna in its freezers.
This white and blue colored boat has a modern radar system, and is the only one in the world that will guarantee that dolphins will not be harmed.
This ship can develop a speed of 20 knots.

Such baby tuna and only a very few 2-3 year old tuna and nothing larger. I used to monitor the catches at Taboga Island for the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission in 1979. Quotas were set and I thought the stocks were building again but from this video, it looks like the end is now here.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. And you are right, , if fishing continues at current rates it won’t be able to sustain itself.
