Hello Fern, Your hair looks so beautiful! Gorgeous!!! French stylists have more common sense about cut and hair color. I live in Milan and I had a nightmare experience 4 months ago with two haircutting stylists that were supposedly the "TOP". They didn't care about my preferences regarding shape, length etc, and I speak fluent Italian. A cut and highlights cost 325,00, when done properly. There are cheaper salons cut and highlights 150,00. After 40 years of having gone to the best salons in NY, Palm Beach and Paris, So the moral of the story is, beware of massive egos who work in the fashion industry in Italy. I'm still recovering from the trauma of 5-6 inches of hair cut without my permission. I had a medium age appropriate "bob" and left with a blixie... I saw that piece of S@#!!! at a fashion event a couple of weeks ago and he didn't dare come closer, when he saw me.

Well done for the self pampering - we all need it. Prices were a lot higher than here in Cyprus. I am blessed with good nails and I have Gel manicures which are €25 - same price for a pedicure and it is the full thing with a spa chair and foot bath etc. Similar work as yours at my hair salon is approx €100. "Because we're worth it". x

Love all what you had done..here in Canada it is around the same pricing however Euros converted to Canadian dollars….you spent around $300. .. converted to Canadian dollars that would be around $450.. ouch!

Fern's new viewers haven't seen her natural deep rich cool brown hair tone of her natural hair color. So I understand where "The Cutting Shop" stylist were coming from. This new color speaks "summer." I think on the Riveria with the sun shining bright Fern could pull naturally warm tones out of her natural brown shade of hair naturally, it might not be as light as this warm medium shade is but it would be the warm tone she is looking for which could be toned fairly easily once the summer months are over and fall and winter clothes change to deep rich shades. I was a hairstylist for over many years so I defintely always look at hair and offer up opinions when asked. Fern loves to experiment and lets face it she looks great always. She spealizes in beauty and shares great tips with her viewers. I really enjoy Fern's videos.

Also, I could totally relate to you questioning the meaning of everything! I think the life you described with chickens and a garden sounds amazing. Gorgeous nails Fern I get mine done too . Moved to Mallorca in October and my nails are 30 Euros and takes 1 hour and a quarter. Before that I lived in Ireland , it was 35 Euros and took an hour. France is more expensive but if you love your nails done like I do too its so worth it. x

Nail services have gone up a lot in the last few years. Your cost was in line with a lot of places here in the U.S. You got a deal on your hair service's, I think that would have cost you at least a 100 dollars more in any big city in the U.S. Well Done, you look fabulous!

Beautiful hair cut&color, Fern! Great price 👍I have hair your length and I pay $250 in a north suburb of Atlanta, Ga. I get long layers and a treatment also. Mani-pedi here is comparable to what you paid. I don’t go as often as I use to - I Keep my nails short & natural now- except for a holiday or special event. I can spend less on clothing /accessories than I use to. The consumer thing got to me…I question spending a lot on purses, shoes now. I’m much simpler than I was ten years ago.

Love the cut n colours of your hair Fern! Manicre looked clean n fresh, would love nice nails but have dogs and make earrings and tiaras so would last long. Have booked for a mani/ped when I go on my cruise in May to celebrate my 60th, so who knows, might become a regular treat if I get on with them. Thinking of having some warmer tones in April ready for my son's wedding, caramel n gold. What colours did you have Fern, love how the lighter frames the face with a light cut. You work hard n deserve to treat yourself, some people spend way more every six weeks!! Too much maintenance for me, cut n blow every 8 wks for me, if I go for some voloyrs then we will have to see how they last n factor the price in after the first 8wks. Your hair looks great! 170 is a fair price, in Houston Tx you can pay anywhere between $25-125 for hair cut. I am going tomorrow and don’t get my hair cut where I color because too expensive but with tipping the hair wash woman and the hair stylist for base color and very few highlights it will be $200 plus I don’t have her style. You got a deal! I might change! I pay only $35 for mani and pedi but don’t do acrylic

Your Hair guy is a keeper! Great job and great price compared to LA! Funny last 2 times my nail guy put glitter on my nails too. The first time he asked if I wanted it as it was for a special occasion, but this last time he just did it. lol. Guess I’m going to have to just clarify next time “no glitter”. lol 😅

Fern love the color and cut. The price for your hair is not out of line. My daughter lives in Indiana and her salon charges almost the same and her hair is much shorter than yours. Your mani and pedi seems a tad expensive compared to here. Of course you live in an expensive area and that’s probably he going rate.

50 quid is about average for acrylic, have you not thought about gel Fern, much nicer in my opinion, just wondered if you tip in France? Hair is very pretty hair price sounds quite average, maybe slightly expensive but not for a high-end salon. The pedicure sounds slightly expensive all worth it though when it makes you feel great

You look fabulous, Fern! I did think you would pay more on the French Riviera. I'm in Las Vegas, USA and while there are salons and nail shops on nearly every corner, the quality services are harder to find. I last paid $150.00 for a cut/blow dry and treatment. My nail services and pedicures are about $150.00 combined. These prices do not include tipping for me. While it seems high to many, it is so worth it for me! I have my hair cut maybe twice a year and once a month for the mani/pedi.

How much are fillers lips etc ?

Prefer all one length hair. The layers drive you mad after a while.

170 euros so cheap, I pay £135 for cut wash and full head of highlights and that is in somebody's home salon. So wow cheaper over there. And I have short hair.

I don't think artificial nails are the way to go. I have never done that, and my nails are perfectly strong. Nails need to breathe.

The acrylic will make your nails even weaker…my experience anyway. Your natural nails look better IMO anyway.

Just keep your nails short: more hygienic and it will make your nails healthier in the long term. Fake nails are scam and kind of icky.

Why don't you Google the translation of the English words? And write it down so there won't be any confusion

France looks like the 80s...hate to break it to you - but by every measure France is a better place to live than the UK right now, productivity, quality of life, work-life balance, education, healthcare, state of the roads/ railways - if you want to feel better about yourselves and your failing public health system, schools, roads, railways and increasing reliance on foodbanks & record tax and inflation - then I suggest you look a little further East - to Ukraine perhaps.
