Sorry guys, I said in the video that the Encoder can just be mapped, and kinda blindly assumed I could, but at this moment we can't, not with a map module either. I've already contacted support, maybe if enough people do, ALM will do something about it.

This module might probably be the most useful utility in eurorack realm. I have the new workout and the pro in my system and they will stay forever. Euclidean steps is a great feature as well.

The pro is on my list, I hope I can get a black faceplate somewhere though 🙂

I have both the hardware and the software. It is nice to work in the same way for both, saves a little memory space in my head.

Thanks for the video lesson and patch. I just bought VCV Rack yesterday and the ALM Busy Circuits bundle an hour ago. My only question is, where can I find the wave file(s) for the VoxGlitch Wav Bank? Thanks for your kind response.

Great to hear that! Wavbank doesn't come with samples, you need to select a folder of your own samples.

When these first popped up I got the bundle for $50. They are the first and only paid VCV modules I have and they are well worth the money! What I'm wondering is if they release more, will they be included in my bundle purchase? I hope so!

What a Beastmodule ...Thanks for the Tutorial .. can you explain how to use this in sync with a Second instance or a external Clock ?

Good question, I'll look into that, I believe they also have a free plugin to sync to your DAW over audio which is cool.

I was and I am excited for this but also I would have loved if it could expand for more intuitive control or at least if mapping the encoder to a midi controller would be possible. What feels good in Eurorack does not translate well to the PC screen in this case.

I briefly went over the axon expander in this video, you can easily map that to any midi controller with the map module

@@optoproductions but I have a nice and similar encoder (on my midi controller) to the one on the hardware module. It’s impossible to map the behaviour of the encoder to the one from the vcv rack module. Already asked alm but it seems it will not be possible to address the encoder because of how vcv rack works.

@@leonnaffin ah I guess you can't map the click button, yeah that's annoying. Unless they add a function on the expander to differentiate between single press and long press.

@@optoproductions this would be super cool. Maybe if you ask Alm there is a better chance that they implement this functionality somehow

Thank you for this video. This module is in a lot of racks, but I dont think I ever saw someone having 2 or more in a rack. Why not if it can do so much?

So, I kind of wonder. Pamela's Workout is in my queue of things to buy for my hardware setup. Its a super versatile clock generator, euclidean gate sequencer, LFO, envelope generator and whatever else. In hardware having all of these functions in a single module saves me case space and money. But why would I ever want to have this in VCV rack? Its super menu divey and it doesn't seem to do anything a few free modules wouldn't do better.

To familiarize yourself with the hardware for one. I love minimal patches to keep things organized, I'd get RSI just having to move my mouse across 8 turing machines when I can get it out of this single module 😅 And the turing machine doesn't store sequences. I wouldn't also have an easy way to create the fill patterns like I made in this video, especially with the cross modulation. Loop sleep and nap is really powerful, as are the flex operations. But yeah, it totally depends on your needs and style.

Hi, I wanted to ask if you're up for a sound design challenge ? If yes, here it is, how would you set a patch where, every time you strike a key there's a chance of, instead of getting the right note you may get a half step up or a half step down perfectly quantized either in a synth or with modular. In VCV, maybe is not impossible, but in an assembled synth, how to get the right quantization ? And how to get the function ? Another test I run any new synth by, is, if you can get a note on release (note off, I guess), and other funny tests to test the architecture, design, easiness without the need to read the manual etc. I finally got the courage to make a patch on Melda Factory, so capable and so poorly designed. It's a shame that this guy couldn't hire a trained designer. Maybe he thinks the best way is to do it alone, besides, if I am such a genius to create these amazing plugins, what could go wrong ? how about everything else.

In Ableton there's a random MIDI effect with probability. That's the quickest way, you can send it to any synth. With just a synth you would need a sample & hold triggered by a random LFO. Or a delay with the mix modulated randomly so it responds to your previously played notes. It depends on the synth, it may not be possible in many situations. In modular anything is possible though 😃
