I have been itching to get my hands on one of these tools for a while. I'm right up the road from District Leather Supply. This review has convinced me to finally go grab some. Great review! Really happy to see these in action.

I think these might be my choice. Fun to hear you mention me too! Glad you like that hideous scrap of Crazy Horse!

These look great but without an exact sized rod to sharpen them I'd be nervous to use them. Nice review, thanks.

Thanks, but I know how to use a beveller. It's sharpening such fine tools that puts me off.

Luke St Everything 😆👍🏼 no worries. What u do first us bevel the edge ( to get the contour) using the what u wanna sharpen. Then rub some polishing rouge (white or green) then just draw down. U can lightly turn the tool upside down and very lightly draw down again to remove the “rolled) edge...what knife sharpeners call something like a “wire edge”. I do this with my bevelers after losing the rod and find it does a better job. Sharpens AND polish the cutting edge

If you had to choose between this Ron's Montana size 1 or a Palo Santo size 0 which would you choose? Just asking as both are 0.4 designed for thinner leather

Lignum Vitae is an incredibly slow growing wood which is what makes it so dense. Unfortunately it's also what makes it rare. Can your supplier certify his wood is ethically sourced?
