I loved this and loved how easily it all unfolded. Some critics said it lacked something - whether it was Lea’s personality or inner world - but I think any more character development would’ve been unnatural, unrealistic. These critics seem to have forgotten has small one’s world is when they’re only 17.

it lacked the depth of the characters... she has her phone with her while waiting for the rapist but she does not call for help and then she returns to her predator...so unrealistic!
This looks like it will be a powerful and impactful movie depicting what grooming and emotional abuse looks like. More people should be aware of this type of domestic abuse and how it manifests.

Yeah, she shouldn't be out at night and shouldn't let anyone know that nobody cares where she's at because human traffickers look for vulnerable victims.

Just a girl following her true womanly nature and embracing whoredom. Most bishes pretend they're virtuous and pure while banging the entire band, then kissing their husbands after.

Finally a movie about grooming that isn't glamorizing it.
This looks so well done. It reminds me of Joyce Carol Oatest "Where are you going, Where have you been?" Relentless and slow burning and ultimately horrific for a reason.
What I appreciate about this trailer is that it isn't glamorizing it. This whole thing makes me so uncomfortable because the age difference is palatable and the gaze/POV between the girl and the man is clear that he is taking advantage and she is vulnerable.

Yeah it's not about the age difference. It's about how she was naive thinking he loved her. She let a loser her own age cum inside at start of the movie, so it's not about her being innocent or taken advantage of sexually, like sheep Karen's and feminists will pretend. It's about the emotional abuse of being misled. Great acted movie though.

Keen observation! 👏🏽 Totally! He’s shot from under from the scene of him getting up and winking at her to him driving, camera angles is slightly lower than eye line. It’s the opposite with her, cameras pointing slightly downward. She’s small. He’s big and powerful.
1:43 PERFECT way of describing it.

@@whosebuilderandmakerisgod Ahh, okay I see. That's not present when you click the timestamp so OP's confusing. One especially feels that in the end, in the final moments of the film. The last scenes leading up to, but especially with the last four words in the film.
Nicely done. Even the preview gave me the creeps, but the acting looks great.
Great movie, superbly acted. The two main characters are just perfect.
SPOILER ALERT I felt so sorry for Lea. The acting was so good it left me f***ed up 😢😢
I think the film was pretty good. The character development was a bit lacking and the film doesn't go that deep, but I think it did a good job of raising the issue of grooming. It's a slow burn, but it's worth watching.
This movie really pissed me off. The way Tom let’s Leah come to him and doesn’t chase her at all is pretty realistic. To see a kid get exploited and taken advantage of is infuriating.
Beautiful
Finally a trailer without spoilers...
This movie reminded me of myself at 16. I ran away with a 27 year old and it was the most fucked up situation. He went to jail for something and I met my husband. If that didn't happen who knows how my life would have turned out. Scary!
The guy should cast as T1000
extremely slow, very raw and real. great acting all around. there is a hue of darkness in the coloring of the film which makes it extremely depressing. ending made me want to scream but thats the reality of grooming, they go back to their abusers

The end of the film or the end of the trailer? At the end of the movie, Lea gives Tom the slip. For his own safety so that he doesn’t get caught, Tom changes his phone number and leaves town. Lea manages to get ahold of his number from one of his old neighbours. Wen Tom finds out she’s alone, he’s willing to talk to her on the phone. She tells him that she misses him too, implying that he probably told her he missed her. He never sees her again

The topic of human trafficking is superficially approached within this movie and it could have been a reference piece for all teenagers and their parents. The fact that a 17 year old falls in love with an older creepy guy who forces her to become a prostitute but she does not escape the room he puts her into even if she has her phone with her, then she gets raped, after she returns to the predator is so unrealistic.........
Gotta love that age gap
Creepy
This movie pissed me off so much
It's a mix of "Fifty Shades of Grey" and "Lolita" and a bit of "Black Swan". A young innocent woman corrupted by a older experienced man who takes advantage of her heart. The acting looks great too.

@@rebelraccoon9018 TBF, most humans _aren't fully_ developed until much later in life, their 🧠 specifically until aged mid-to-late twenties. (Males later than females, typically _years_ later.) I just don't know if that's a fair argument anymore, including regarding 17-year-olds, most of whom are usually sexually active by then. 🤍

They say maturity, generally doesnt take in human brains until about 30. So the guy, post 30, pursues later teen. Not outrageous, but a flag. Then there's some cultural things tough to simplify. Yet the simple point really is..regardless of the maturity of the teen...If someone post 30 or just significantly older pursues teen or younger...It's generally going to be disturbed person pursuing non emotionally formed person. Maybe that's films point. 19 is legal though, true.
