We’ve had a few comments regarding the low volume in parts of this video. We apologize about that. We use our mics when the restaurant is playing music at a level where KZread can detect it and issue us a music copyright strike, or it’s just really loud around us. In this case, it was the background music. I had to lower the mic volume to keep the music undetectable. Thanks for understanding.

We always make it a point to stop by and get their shakes at Shields.

🤣😂😅Lisa made me laugh out loud with the Ding Dong chocolate cake. Funny Lisa and Bill too with his expressions. Good reviews. The sandwiches looks so delicious 🤤😋🥰

Dates, stuffed with blue cheese, wrapped in bacon. Baked in the oven. Excellent appetizer.

El Paseo route through Palm Desert and NW on 110, would had been scenic drive to Palm Springs. Thank God for ac!

Born and raised in the desert, and live less than a mile from Shields, but have never been😂 definitely for tourists. Next time you must try Elmer’s in Palm Springs for breakfast!

I think it's time you go there! Although it's touristy they do have some interesting products (not just dates). And I hear their cafe is good. A friend of mine in LaQuinta (a lifelong local) goes there often. Elmer's is great. I live a couple of blocks from there so have eaten there many times.

Date Shake also at Newport Coast ...Crystal Cove shake shack! We were visiting San Diego and was driving up the coast to Huntington Beach and stopped for this amazing shake place!

I used to work at The Wheel Inn ( Where the dinosaurs are along I-5 outside of Banning.) They had the best pies and date shakes. That was 30 years ago. Wow!

I enjoyed the video again and it brought back memories.I remember those beautiful mountains you drive to when you go to Palm Springs...thank you i love it 🥰🥰🥰

That breakfast is one of the best looking meals you have ever shown us

Not sure who said that latkes are not crispy on the edges, but they do not know how a true latke is made. It is hand grated, mixed with an egg and ground onion, salt , pepper,then pan fried in oil, until golden brown. They are thin and not thick. So a crunchy outside is spot on. Lisa can become a matzoh ball expert soon. The debate is always a very tender matzoh vs a more dense one. No one at the family table ever agrees which is best ! Which do you prefer Lisa? Great video 👍

Nice video. Took the family to Palm Springs last month and stayed right next door to the Sherman's Deli. Really good food there. Just too hot during the summer time.

Happy Sunday Bill and Lisa! I watched this twice this weekend…I always wanted to go to the Palm Springs outlets to go shopping but never have because was not sure what was out the in the desert. Date shakes! Didn’t know there was such a thing. But that duck omelette…yum! But Lisa and her croissant with the butter with the jam…I want that chicken, bacon and waffles…look at the freshness of the food there…omg! Look at that dessert display! Ok Bill you need to sample all the desserts…hard to find a good Reuben sandwich…that was a super crispy looking latka! Thank you for sharing these adventures!!! Have a great upcoming week!

Pinocchio's in the desert is a great place to visit if in palm springs!

I'm drooling 🤤 those sandwiches 🥪

Date shake. Never had one. Papaya drink as exotic as I got. Good to see. Next, a pastrami wedding cake. With picklea for candles.

My husband and I are ‘regulars’ there even though we live over an hour away. Lol! The place is so worth the drive! I usually get the French dip sandwich and hubby gets the pastrami sandwich and mushroom barley soup. We love the knish and latkes as well. The recommendation on the chocolate ‘ding dong’ cake was spot on, it’s one of my favorites.

All that food looked delicious. When we go we have dinner at Las Consuelas Mexican restaurant, it’s very good. The day we got there it was 120 degrees, and those cold margaritas went down pretty fast lol

That chocolate dome cake looked outrageously yummy!!!

I was going to say that you've got to make it back to Cheeky's for the bacon flight, and the inside of your coffee cup when it's empty.

Thanks for visiting our beautiful city. We pride ourselves on not having many chain restaurants. Most restaurants here are locally owned so you really need to come back as there are many more restaurants that are very good. Many! Unfortunately you visited at one of our hottest times of the year here in the desert. We also love Farm. Their breakfast is the best. That coffee!!!☕☕☕☕ We use Sherman’s for our party catering. They do an outstanding job. Great job…

Next time you come to Indio, try Arreolas it’s a small whole in the wall but they got the best Tamale bowels and thier Salsa is the best !! The Nachos they have are my favorite.. they add barbacoa meat to it .. So good ..

Love your videos and enjoy all three places you go. Thanks for making these videos. I don't know if it was just me, but every time you had your mics on during the food reviews at the restaurants, I can barely hear you, but when you are outside, it's regular volume. Startles me every time with the volume when you go from quiet to loud.

I recently drove by Palm Springs and almost stopped for a date shake, but then I had the thought if date ice cream is not offered at the grocery store, how good can it be? Thanks for taking the tine to share your shake experience. I will take the time to stop and try a date shake when in Palm Springs.

when I was a little girl my dad used to stop here on our way to Desert Hot Springs that was back in the 1950’s !

Macaroons with ruben. Everytime til the wheels fall off! And some kachinging too at casino!

The one thing I remember from Palm Springs was it was so hot and I was being such an $#* about the heat I just stayed in the hotel all day. Crispy potato pancake ends was my favorite part. If they are fresh out of the fryer I can eat those all day long.

I ate at the tramway restaurant in April. The food looks good. Date shake sounds weird like pickle slushy . The pastrami looks good . Corned beef

"Smells like a Ding Dong" 🤣 clip that for a short!😂 'The Farm' was a great last minute find, but Lisa was killing me replacing the goat cheese!😆 There's a couple places that do date shakes on the drive to Vegas from California. I've wanted to stop some time, now I have more incentive! Have you guys done the Palm Springs Tram? I know you have to dress warm for the top, even though the bottom can be in the 💯°'s! LOL! Yes, the Farm was a great find for sure. Lisa's never been up the PS tram, maybe one day. We've seen the date shake signs on the way to Vegas too. lol

The other Sherman’s location is in Palm Desert. It is a classic go to place for us locals. I have never heard of cheeky’s before actually, we will also go shock them out when they reopen. 😂

Homesick...I just moved from Indio back to Missouri. Sooo homesick for the desert. Shields and Shermans are the best.

You guys need to check out TKB deli in Indio next time. They were voted the best in the US a few years ago. Head there on a Wednesday for their BBQ sandwiches.

My aunt from California would send us these huge boxes of Shields dates, they were great, this was between 50 or 60 years ago.

I love watching you and would like to suggest The Avocado House on Central in Chino, they are closed on Sunday and Monday, open for breakfast and lunch. Also, you should try Flo's at the Chino Airport. Blessings to you! See you on the next one!

Lisa said it was good, like the others though.

Dates stuffed with peanut butter and just a sprinkle of sugar. We used to make this for our Christmas party and color the sugar red and green.
