Palestinian "Yasma's Salad" | Sahtein!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Y’all are going to love this one. What my family calls "Yasma’s salad", or commonly known as a “Shepard salad” is a family favorite and I’m sure it will become yours too.
It is beautifully adaptable and I change what I put in it depending on the day. It can be as simple as onions, tomatoes and a lemon-olive-mint dressing, or as complex and colorful as the one I made here today. Plant based, if you omit the halloumi cheese.
Let me know how you decide to make yours! ALF SAHTEIN!

So I just ate that and it is probably the best salad I've ever had. Really, I'm not one to comment on KZread on the regular or anything, but it deserves it. Again, best salad I've ever had.

Never been to Palestine or the middle east, but the cuisine there looks delicious and healthy. Probably one of the tastiest in the world. I've prepared hummus many times and now I'm going to try this wonderful salad. Love you, from Italy. 🇵🇸 🇮🇹

You are so cute!! That salad looks so delicious! And your blouse is very pretty, too. Thanks for your hard work bringing these videos to us!
Great food, great presenting great production! I can't wait to try your recipes 😃
Made your salad today, this is sooo good! Will become part of my daily diet...
Nadia, you are lovely, and love your cooking and recipe.
Not only am I loving all the recipes, you are 100% engaging in these videos. Where so many videos are just someone's hands, or are so very dry, there's the engagement as if the viewer is actually there in the kitchen with you. Being someone who was raised in a kitchen, and consider my kitchen to be my "zen garden", I'm sending the same in you. I'm blathering, 😂, but it's nice to see someone who enjoys the same things about cooking as myself.
Thank you for being so awesome and inspiring
It is so considerate of you to give vegan alternatives and time stamps. Your channel is a gem, and I swear I will cook every single (vegan) recipe!!

Agreed that it's nice of you to suggest vegan alternatives. I miss halloumi although here in the UK we have a couple of great feta alternatives. I love middle eastern breakfasts.
I am thrilled to learn to make delicious foods from your kitchen. It has been a difficult year and it is nice to see someone so authentic, genuine and kind. ❤🇨🇦❤
Nadia you are absolutely fabulous ❤ Thank you for these recipes and thank you for being such a vibrant, positive energy ball! It's a source of joy to be with you in your kitchen through Sahtein :) Loads of Love to you!

You are awesome! Love your food😀
I just love your personality ❤️ probably my favorite salad of all time. DEF have done the avocado and zaatar additions but I’ve always eaten the fried halloumi on the side. Love the idea that it kind of becomes like a crouton in your/your cousin’s version

Yes it is totally like a salty crouton! Yasma says it is the most important part. I don't always add it but it is definitely a special treat. I love this salad more than most things ❤️
Your channel is a gift, truly! I have binged on your vegan (nearly vegan) recipe videos, today, and feel incredibly inspired. The colours, the simplicity, the layers of flavours 🤤 Plus, I have learned a few things from you, as well! Thank you for sharing your recipes, techniques, fun personality, creativity and time! ❤️
Love this woman

Looooove your recipes and adore you!!! You are such a beautiful young lady and may I add thank you for not ruining it with tons of makeup !!! 🥰😉
Yuuum , will try this soon
You are such a joy to watch!! I just found you.😃
I made this for dinner last night! First time cooking with haloumi in a very long time, and the first time successfully. I also added some pine nuts, which worked well. It was a really nice salad for a mid-summer night. The spice shop here in Boston where I got the dried mint also sells za'atar, so I got some to try with some other recipe of yours.
Thank you from Sydney, Australia. This exact salad reminded me of lunchtime in Alicante, Spain with my Mama's family. I'm gonna have to visit them all now when international travel allows it.
Mahshallah
omg I just found your channel and I already love you.
I am absolutely drooling here. I'm buying these ingredients when I go shopping next. I already know I'll love it. Plus I'm vastly reducing my intake of processed foods and carbs and going back to plant based eating ❤😘 from the Scottish Highlands x
So good, fried Halloumi is the best 👌
Gonna try this tomorrow! It sounds a bit like one of the salads from Ottolenghi's book, which is a family favourite Plus, you make it sound so easy and chill. Love your vibe!

She is absolutely beautiful and awesome, Shokran Sahtein....
Looks wonderful :)
I have recommended it to my friends in South Africa..
You are one of the few who are pronouncing halloumi correctly as we do in Cyprus. Much love from Cyprus, your middle eastern neighborhood.
Love it when you speak Arabic, would love to hear it more and learn!
Nice recipe!
The juice part is gold. Dip it with some good fresh bread 🥖 yummy 😋
U r so pretty... love ur dishes 👍
What, i don't have in my kitchen is a woman, like you!!! Respect, to you. Love your channel
That's good ❤
I fricken adore haloumi, and any salad along these lines whether Middle Eastern, Korean, etc. Living in California, where you can find avocados everywhere, I find the shi shi funny. They can be expensive, but my corner store in the Tenderloin in San Francisco even sells them. Anyway, newly addicted to your channel. Catching up. Already love ful, first one I watched, as I have Palestinian friends. Happy Weekend.
Perfect
Looks super good, and your skin as well, glowy
I make my own halloumi cheese. I purchase my raw milk from the Amish, it’s a golden yellow color since it is high in butterfat. It’s so easy and fun to make.
I found plant based halloumi from Violife. Gonna try it.
Yummy 😋 nadia
It was delicious, thank you .

Browned some leftover cheese cubes from a party and browned and drained them until they were a chewy crispy pancake, cut it up and used it instead. Used basil pesto I had on hand..so delicious. thank you

A certified belter of a salad, I threw in some raddishes, red cabbage and walnuts to give a delicious dish a tad more crunch
Yes so yummy. Thank you. Try it with Palestinian Nabulsi cheese, it is even tastier..
Hey Kid, You need to make more videos. This one is very nice too. Reminds me of our roots.
Nice 😋 yum yum!!!It is pretty much a parsley salad peppered with tomato, onion, cracked wheat, and lemon juice!!!🍀
