But they didn't lose revenue, only stock value- a common occurrence in the stock market. In this case it's investors no longer willing to prop up company co-opted by a common core work force and tantrums. No they didn't lose 11 billion, have you seen their income statement? 😂 The stock is doing quite well trading at $98 today and the stores are still packed in civilized countries. If you have read the report beyond the title, you would know the loss of market value is attributed to several factors and perhaps partially because of the boycotts. Not just boycotts alone

They can say it was made beforehand but when did they release the ad. It would have gone through a lot of hands before the final approval for release from the higher ups. There is no way everyone on their team didn't think it could be problematic. I have no doubt they did this intentionally.

Even if this was conceived beforehand they could've avoided releasing the ad keeping the current situation in mind. In the sitcom friends, an episode containing a joke about a bomb at an airport was shot earlier but the scene was edited out coz the episode would air after 9/11.

I am rather one who is disturbed by the prevalence in the media of what you accuse me of. As for your question specifically, such an installation could be done with the specific intent of evoquing the holocaust, and it could be a means of communicating different things, or simply elliciting a certain expected or unexpected reaction. It would of course, be valid as such, unless there was a clear racist motivation behind it, but the artist could explain what exactly he/she was trying to communicate and clear things up. On the other hand, regarding the Zara ad, my reason for commenting is that associating it with the bomb-assisted demolition that is going on in Gaza is a very far shot, it's a really loose association, an association that people can choose to make, but which does not seem intentional from Zara. And in fact, this ad was made before the current bombing spree by Israel, so no intention in that regard could possibly exist. One can see it as a sort of a premonition though. But obviously not in the sense of celebration. It's a tragic event that we are all associated with somehow because we are the ones who elected politicians who lack a moral backbone and are unable to stand against such serious human rights violations as those which are currently ocurring, not to speak of those which have been practiced by Israel for decades.
