In this episode Siti Tellers takes you to discover two truly incredible places: the hermitage of Santa Maria Giacobbe and the Menotre waterfalls. The excursion starts from Pale (PG), a mountain village in the municipality of Foligno and an ideal base for reaching the hermitage and the waterfalls.
The first stop of the episode is the hermitage of Santa Maria Giacobbe, located 525 meters above sea level and completely set in the rock of the "Sasso di Pale" mountain. The church of the hermitage has inside numerous frescoes from different eras, the oldest of which date back to the period between 1200 and 1300, while the other rooms of the complex, a kitchen and an ancient bedroom, underline the passage of some hermits who lived in the structure.
The episode continues to the Menotre waterfalls, a place surrounded by nature where water is the dominant element. At the height of Pale, the Menotre river flows into the valley below, forming a series of truly spectacular waterfalls of different sizes.
