Sydney Penny, one of my favorites of all time going way back to the Thornbirds. She certainly was perfect in Pale Rider, especially the final scene calling out to Preacher as he rode away. As good a scene as have ever been filmed. Bravo, Sydney!

Amen Brother. Clint always had a foundational message in his movies that will live on longer than we do. It was always for good over bad, and cursing those who did nothing in the face of bad. "All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke.
@JohnSmith-uy7sv

@@Jonno2summit I've been using that saying a lot the past few months but I made it simpler for people who don't know that word. "for evil to exist, is for good men to do nothing." and........"woe unto those who say, Good is evil and evil is good." The Bible.

@@JohnSmith-uy7sv Wow, yeah, you get it. There is darkness and light, and are obviously opposed. They mingle in the twilight and dusk, but in true form cannot mix - like oil and water. You can put oil and water in a blender and they will mix for a while, but it is their nature to oppose each other and separate after a short while. They just come from different worlds, like good and evil. We have experienced the mixture of those 2, both personally and on the lighted stage, and that is the constant norm. But in the end they cannot remain mixed together as they are opposed so much. Oil and water. Good and Evil. I think Clint Eastwood was always calling for the veiwers of his movies to make a choice - to take a stand. To stand for something, but full-tilt and not halfass it. Basically, don't be a pussy in life.

The real strength of a good man, is feeling that love and protecting it, without ever harming it! As Eastwood rode off hearing the words, I love you preacher! It's his strength, that will find Sydneys heart, a love of her life, by knowing him!

Last spring I saw on Facebook it was Michael Moriarty's 81st birthday. First thing that came to mind - and I actually used this one liner to wish him a happy one - was "Long walk...." I just couldn't resist. Awesome movie, as most of Clint's .

I am so glad that the legendary Clint Eastwood is still with us today on this February 26th 2023...
Pale Rider is my favorite Eastwood film. I have most of his films and thoroughly enjoy them but I've watched Pale Rider the most.
Outlaw Josey Wales made Clint my favorite. Pale Rider was his most unsung roll. Unforgiven may be my favorite. Call me tomorrow, I might change my mind, there are so many greats from this fella.

My favourite film of all time is "the Outlaw Joset Wales", I see it Christmas Day while eating lunch and on my Birthday 1st June EVERY year. Sometimes I slip in an incidental too :)
Glad Sydney is well, knew her when she was little, I was happy to be a friend of her dad Hank.
Richard Kiel was a family friend of ours! He was the nicest guy!
Unbelievable 1985! And most of the actors are no longer with us 😔. Great film and very informative video,Thank you.
Man. Some of these guys died too early. RIP.

Love A Good Western, & Pale Rider, Is Among My Favorites. Loved It.
Sydney Penny is still gorgeous.
The 2022 photo of Sydney Penny at 3:03 reminds me so much of another former Clint Eastwood co-star, Jessica Walter. (when Jessica was young)
I met Sydney Penny in Laguna Hills,CA back in '98 or so. This was when she was doing daytime soap. She was really nice and very pretty.

Great video. Thank you for making this. It's sad so many are gone. Great actors and actresses.
Richard Kiel I actually met him in the parking lot of a local grocery store, he had pulled into a parking space next to me in a car that was a retractable roof. He was getting out when I was and I said wow its Jaws! He turned around and smiled. I got to shake his hand. This was like in 2005 or 2006. He family in Birmingham, AL. This was in Hoover AL. He was a really nice guy believe it or not. Most actors you run into them they go the other way.
I grew up on the NW side of Chicago..Carrie Snodgress's family were neighbors of ours..we moved to western Wisconsin in 1973..Sometime during that year, Carrie's mother, Carrie senior, wrote to my mom telling her Carrie was off to Hollywood to become a star..as fate would have it..She met Neil Young & they hadda son together..I have no recollections of either Carrie or her brother John..even tho my brother, Kert played with John as kids..Last I knew, John was still out in California working on Neil's ranch..
Fav is Pale Rider("nothing like a piece of hickory")
Drago was one of the best bad guys ever in The Untouchables.

As the director says, do it this way, do it that way, do it shorter, do it longer, over here, no over there and take after take after take for the blooper reels. And then the director says, cut and that's a rap.

Um dos meus filmes favoritos do mestre Clint. Aqui no filme é Cavaleiro Solitário
In 2016, I drove my son to pick up his wife’s gifts from her baby shower. This was at her grandma’s house. While I was there I spent a half hour speaking with a beautiful lady who had been washing dishes. She was very nice. On the drive home, my son told me it was his wife’s aunt Sidney the actress.

Sad for those who were taken so young, but its nice for them that they can be remembered in such a famous movie
Never, to be honest, a huge fan of Eastwood, I have to admit that the names of either Snodgrass or Penny in a cast list usually had me eager to watch whatever was on offer.
Great post, thank you. Sad to see so many of these stars have past-on. I remember watching Pale Rider, first showing on the day it was released. The good ol' days....

It's not unusual. Ha-ha....see what I did there?
A very good cast and most of them already had years of experience under there belts and that always helps to make a great movie. You don't see that kind of experience in movies now as much but times change I guess.
Sydney is still Beautiful.
It was always a little unnerving to see Richard Kiel laughing & joking with other actors & actresses on Match Game in the 70s. For all I know,he was the kind of neighbor who'd lend you yard tools & then forget that he'd lent it to you. but, still, his portrayal as the heavy in so many roles was always direct. In The Last Detail,Michael Moriarty was the Lieutenant who accepted custody of Randy Quaid from Otis Young & Jack Nicholson.

CHILDREN WILL CATCH THEIR DEATHS!
You'll likely watch this movie more than once. It's a fantastic film and another Clint Eastwood classic!
So, I am watching your Vid, when you did Doug McGrath, nothing special until I read part of the list of film credits. PORKY'S showed up. I did not remember McGrath in Porky's, until IMDB reminded me of two parts, one with the 'Lassie' bit and then with all the coaches in the Office to hear Ms. Ballbreaker. Both ending with ,.... much, much 'laughter'. Thank you for that.
With out a doubt, Unforgiven. "It's a hell of a thing, killing a man." He did some of the music. Academy Award, Best Movie. #2 Outlaw Josey Wales. Chief Dan George, "We shall endeavor to persevere."
That was very interesting and I enjoyed seeing where all these people are and I really loved the movie and have seen it many times=Clint never made a bad one~!!
Time FLIES! Wow
Excellent video and very informative, and "Thank you" for sharing the video... * ( WE ) all someday..., will get old or simply be called a "Senior Citizen" and of course die... The "circle of life" and life is short... * Many people say..., "Age is only a number." Interesting video and thank you for sharing the video... " Semper Fi " Mike in Montana P.S.: To all of these fine actors..., "Rest in Peace." :)
Wow , Clint Eastwood 92 years old still alive and most of his fellow actors died .
Love this video you made!!😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️❤️ One question I wanted to ask you: If the original voice actor of Mermaid Man (Ernest Borgnine) has died in 2012, who will be the new voice of Mermaid Man in SpongeBob SquarePants??❤️❤️❤️
Still looks great and even better than the 1985 movie.
I always wondered what happened to the girl in this classic western. Thanks for the update!
Eastwood fans should watch TV series Episodes of Rawhide (esp Season 7, 8) when he was a featured lead as 'Trail Boss', replacing Gil Favor (Eric Fleming). This change was intended i think, and turned out to b, his launching pad into the "spaghetti" Western Trilogy of Fistful of $$, Few $$ More, and Good Bad Ugly. You could see how he developed from Rawhide into his classic style of acting with body posture, his Eyes, without saying much.
That's Sydney Penny now?? She aged beautifully...Wow!
No mention of Josey Wales in Clint Eastwood's credits? In the Top 10 Westerns of all time.
Clint Eastwood is successful
Best far western movie ever!
I love you preacher...!
Thought Sydney Penny was older than 13 when she was in Pale Rider, thought she was at least 16. Also i used to always think it was Sean Penn in Pale Rider, funny enough he went on to do Mystic River with Clint Eastwood.
3:03 Lol, the cute smile stayed....
I'm only here for Penny ... and I wasn't disappointed! Penny still fine!!!
Sydney was so fine in this movie. She still looks good!
"Can't serve God and mammon both... Mammon bein' money."
For Penny to be only 13 at the time, she was one great actor. I thought she was closer to 18 at the time.
