This is what Sonu Nigam was talking about. This is what the music labels do to people. Sonu was just smart to never sign a contract with any of them and he paid the price for it at the top of his career. This guy is spitting facts.

Palash is a quintessential artist who reminds me of simpler times. When his song with Vidya used to air on TV, I was in my teens. Candid, brutally honest... those times can never be back. I hope he can maintain his purity about him, because as he cited his father as an example, good will prevail.

A quintessential artist often doesn't make a lot of money from their profession. I hold SPB & Dasettan in high esteem, but as Palash himself pointed out in this interview, creative people who also understand the business aspect of the profession do very well for themselves. My comment stems from that.

Yes Siddharth, there was this era of music albums that sprouted like mushrooms in the 2000’s. Lucky Ali, Palash, Anaida, Sunita Rao, Shweta Shetty, Nivedita, Mohit Suri ( though he became a playback singer, but again flopped) see all of them might have faced the same problem.

Wow! Ek hour finish b ho gaya and i din realize.. well, yes i agree with you music is actually losing its meaning.. it has been meditation for me and if i have to choose songs to cheer me up, i still go to 90s indi pop as we used to call it! Golden times for independent music! Miss it to the core! Thanks palash sir for bringing back those memories and the songs u mentioned all along, i started singing them haha! Its so unfortunate that the struggles are real too ..sonu nigam's podcast with ranveer was also soooo amazing both professionally and spiritually! His thoughts totally echoed what palash sir said! Creative people actually can't tolerate unfair practices cz they dont have any malice in them hence they speak up in the interest of everyone but sadly the majority of the other group is still bigger.. we do need our own independent music industry, so enjoy the western music and envy them at the same time for the legacy of music you guys have left that couldn't reach as far as they can..regardless, palash sir please rest assured that you can atleast count your millenial fans (including me) to carry your voice and work atleast until we become grandparents! We owe to you guys to actually help us be genuine music lovers! Stay blessed always!🙏✨️🙌😍
