I already own shares of PALANTIR, TSLA, NVDA and APPL as well. Sure, I don't mind having these equities sit around for a while, but I'd also like to appreciate short-term opportunities that could fetch $200,000 or less..

It’s precisely at times like these that investors need to be on guard against the next certainty. You don’t have to act on every forecast. I will also suggest investors to get yourselves a financial-advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on.

The market is not necessarily a rollercoaster if you know your way around the market, there are various opportunities in the present market to accrue good profit, If you are not too savvy with the market, just buy and hold on strong companies with good earnings, or consult with advisors on ETFs and actively managed funds. that’s what works for my spouse and I. We've made over 30% capital growth minus dividends.

Thanks for the informative Video, the sad truth is that no one has a clue, we all react to what happens as it happens and try to analyse it but can’t predict an iota of what is going to unfold in the markets… content creators are like amplifiers, when times are good they affirm it and try to tell you why it’s good and that it’s looking bullish but then all of a sudden the market turns bearish and everyone affirms it again and try to analyse why… it’s so sad that many are so powerless and it's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 11Bitcoin in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Lukas Douglas, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

I have learned that you only sell puts, IF you want to buy the stock at a certain price. So, you must have the cash on hand to buy them, should you end up being called upon to buy them, which is what you wanted to begin with. It's why it's called a cash covered put strategy. And once you own the stock, you sell calls on it at the price you would like to sell them at. Or, a lower price, with the danger of selling at a lower price. The goal is still to add to the value of the trade of the stock, either buying or selling them. If you own the stock, and sell puts, your strategy is you want to (still) buy more of the stock. Looking at cash covered puts or covered calls any other way is just gambling. I don't like gambling. 😁

If you sell $21 Calls on Palantir and collect .41 on 10 contracts, you would need to start with 1000 shares of the stock and make $410. This is assuming the stock drops below $21, otherwise you would be selling your shares to cover the Call contracts at a loss. If PLTR went to $22, for example, you would lose out on $1000 on the 1000 shares you own (yes, you would have collected the $410 but given up $590). Only sell Calls if you think the stock will go down. Don’t give away your shares for less than you think they are worth.

I sell options on PLTR too but just be careful that your shares will be called away if the strike price is hit. So if you sell a call option at $23 for 5/31 and the stock shot up to $25, you would have lost a gain of $200 for each 100 shares you have. But that the risk you get by collecting the call option premium. So since the earnings have already been released, the stock is expected to trade side ways so selling both a call or a put option would be a good income stream if you are careful.

  • @NotNormo

I got burned pretty bad with Palantir call options recently. I knew the earnings announcement would reveal good Q1 earnings and I was right, but I didn't expect them to also say their guidance for the rest of the year would be so pessimistic. So stock price plummeted even with good earnings and my call options became worthless. Long term I like the company a lot but a forward P/E ratio of 60 is really expensive. I'm going to wait for the price to drop before buying.

Never, ever assume that a stock is safe. No stock is safe no matter what you think about it. The right question to ask is " If that stock goes down 50%, am I gonna be ok with holding the shares at that level of loss?" If you are ok, then by all means sell the puts. Keep in mind however that the way you think when the situation is calm and things are going your way might not be how you will feel when or if the sh*t hits the proverbial fan. I have been trading options for more than 20 years, became financially free 12 years ago and along the way leant the hard way that stocks can always surprise you when you least expect it and using risk defined strategies might cost you a bit more but over time it will save you untold amounts of not only money but also mental capital which is even more important. You will also sleep well at night.

Henry PLTR may be the thing, but I have losing trades and not quite happy with the results thus far. I think there is too much hand waving on the next big thing and I think being more like Buffett and RIP Charlie Munger should be a thing. We need to focus on under value, name brands that make money over a decade or more.

With the assistance of a financial planner, I was able to diversify my portfolio across multiple markets and attain a net profit of over one million dollars by utilizing high yielding bonds, ETFs, and shares. Having exposure to a range of companies, including ones that are currently producing cash flows, is important.
