It mostly depends how you start, if you win your 1st ranked on some character it should be insta platinium. Unless they changed something you start with 3500 rating on every hero. On makoa that i had almost master rank on i was getting about 10 points for win and loosing about 100 :c

dova17 yeah, when I win I get like 8 and that is SO annoying. I will never be able to level up a champion like this. And if I loose it is like -20. My friend played only one game competitive and got platinium on Pip, Evie and Mal'damba (for each one). It is just messed up.

They plan to make hard rank reset in some time. Im not sure when tho (maybe if it will come out of beta or new rank system will be implemented)

Casual can get you up to Gold Border, but if you want Platinum, Diamond, etc. you gotta play Competitive.

The level isn't what effects the border. If you only play casual, then your characters Mastery level will keep going up and will eventually reach gold. For casual players, that's the max it can get. To get a platinum+ border on your character, you have to rank up by playing competitive matches

The point of the video is to play competitive games and win them. This is the only way to get a plat/diamond/mastery champion. But yeah, all of this could be said under 2 minutes.
