Delhi is filled with people from different cultures and different states but I never heard or saw anyone use "tu" or "us" for their parents. We are okay with using "tum" for mothers but dad ke sath nahi bhaai 😁😁😁

Agreed. Girls sometimes use tum or tumhe for fathers and mothers. But boys just can never do that especially with their fathers. As for me and my elder brother, we both use 'aap' for both of them. For my brother I use tum because we've been very close like friends. 🤔

@@bibafruit3655 I'm from UP, but 'tum' is often used by girls for their parents because they're daddy's 'ladli' and their mothers don't beat them up because they need them for their household chores. 🤣 Boys, on the other hand, can never use that especially for their dads. 🤣

Exactly, I mean even he knows it. It's very difficult to fit India in one box. Speech or just culture in general (except relgious aspect barring Muslims) is very similar between Delhi/UP belt & Urban Pakistan (Muhajir culture, as they migrated from that region). Same with the two Punjabs. It's just because of how disproportionately Mumbai is represented in "indian pop culture," that people assume it to be "Indian culture." Also, this Mumbaiya pop culture has in itself brought about change across Urban India, especially above Vindhyas.
