On Economic Reforms, Manmohan Singh was a Doer, but decision maker and facilitator was Narsimha Rao. Narsimha Rao was a genius, he knew and could speak in 17 Indian Languages. His life is interesting, when he died, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi did not even receive his body at Congress office, such was her rift with Narsimha Rao. At the end, when his body was cremated, it was raining and it could not burn properly. People reported that a part of his body was eaten by Crows and Vultures, the next day of his cremation. Not only did his party treat him badly, the ungrateful people of India treated him badly as well. The same middle-class section of the society which benefitted the most due to his governance, did not vote for him in the next election and made sure that he lost power. Sad, very sad ! Nobody remembers him - neither his partymen nor the UNGRATEFUL people of India !!

We have been benefitted by liberalisation for sure, and we must thank PVN for it, but there is one major drawback of it which has impacted many people of my age group. i.e. Unnatural development and growth, I somehow feel I was in coma and I woke up few years later. I don't know what happened on Sunday 😁. I really miss those simple, peaceful days of the past. While I am missing those days, I am typing this message on an American phone, sending via an Indian 4G network, life is much more comfortable. Chalti ka naam Zindagi.

In 1985 Shri. P.V. Narasimha Rao had visited my college in Pune. He also inaugurated the newly built hostel in college campus. I had the privilege of welcoming him by giving a bouquet. I was in my first year of engineering then and stayed in the same hostel.

Every thing that India achieved in the last 30 years and will achieve in future, the credit should go to Narsimha Rao. He took the risk, swallowed the bitter pill and initiated the suicidal reforms. He lost the next election, but won the battle eternally. He is now remembered even more fondly and his glory will only grow more and more as India scales new heights.

It was PV narsimha rao , Manmohan Singh , Montek Singh Ahluwalia and RBI governor , Planning Commission Beurocrats who worked very hard to achieve all this success that we see today

Manmohan saved india from great recession in 2008 when we got 3.1% gdp from 7.6% ..in 2009 his action made india second fastest again with 8% in 2009 8.9% in 2010 ...howover oil crises was a big jolt to deal with inflation was increased ..as a matter of Manmohan singh MNERAGA is world's biggest successful employment scheme ..RTI ACT ..MSME act. .food security bill ..direct benefit transfer ...aadhar ..a major shift in finance policies ..like abolish of sales tax in 2005 and VAT in 2005 ..giving independence to RBI for monetary policy .. environment accounting ...abolish of revenue deficit in budget. ..etc NUCLEAR WEAPON AND DISARMAMENT ACT ... Indra Gandhi's policies were more left and from that point we went into poverty and politically We were unstable during 80-90s. After 1999 Atal Biharis 13 month govt. India started getting full term govt. Also in 2000 a big shift helped the current boom were most FDIs were taken under automatic route and then came Internet boom and India was all open to start IT services. Today Millennials can't think of early 90s days.

Some way or the other, Manmohan Singh was also the part of Financial Governance since 1960s, and hence also responsible for the condition India reached by 1990. Had it not been sticks of PV Narsimha Rao, Officers like Manmohan Singh though able and learned were doing more harm than good. The book Insider gives a very good insight of rotten mentality of Indian administrative psyche.

Baat librandus ki nahi baat sach ki hai bro ..congress ka time 10Rs excise duty thi petrol .lesser.income tax and indirect tax was only source of revenue but still they accounted 7.6% in first 5 yrs ..with low unemployment rate ...during next 5 yrs global recession and then oil crises increased inflation in order to manage fiscal deficit ..
