Pakistan's most dangerous market 🇵🇰 پاکستان کا سب سے خطرناک بازار

🇵🇰 Just by chance the other day, we stumbled across this interesting fruit market in Karachi, Pakistan. It's located in a super small alley, in which cars non-stop go through, and you have to squeeze out of the way to make sure you don't get hit. In this market, most of the fruit sellers are "Pathan", or "Pashtun" as they are more commonly know in English. Pashtuns are an Iranian ethnic group that are also the majority in Afghanistan. As such many of the Pashtuns in Pakistan also don't speak Pakistan's national language, Urdu, very well. Either way, it made for a funny video. Enjoy.

The conversation with the orange guy was both wholesome and hilarious. Wholesome when you give him an extra 10 rupee and he gives you an extra orange instead. Hilarious when both of you couldn't speak urdu properly but still tried your best to understand each other.

Many shop owners around the world overcharge tourist but the Pathan of this market n Pakistan were generally very honest. The apple guy told Chris 160 a kilo, but he said 180 to the Pakistani gentleman, who like all of us in the subcontinent, bargained for 150. The apple seller was so honest he reduced Chris' price on hiw own to 150. That's awesome n so commendable, we say Vasudevay Kutumbukam (the World is one Family) and the Pathan apple seller was actually living it out in this market

The guy selling grapefruits with his arms folded, asking when he would be leaving clearly wasn't relating to him. A huge number of the Afghans in Pakistan are classed as illegal immigrants, no wonder people don't want some American wandering about their markets filming people and posting it online. Did you notice that when he asks people is they are Afghan Pashtun, many are very keen to make it clear that the are from the Pakistan side of the border? Could it be possible that they are saying that because they are from the other side and worried about the authorities seeing the video? I agree though, he does make interesting videos and it is nice to see when he makes friends and relates to people.

@@meestersecure9060 Well since he has over 800K subs - I'd imagine he put in the work to build his channel and likely now YT is his primary source of income. And make no mistake, being a content creator is WORK. We only see the end product where it's all smiles, but we don't see the effort that goes into making these videos. Also possible that he has a remote job that he can do from anywhere -- I could be way off, but you shouldn't make judgments with no information about what you're judging.

We are all human beings and children of Allah/God/Ishwar/Yahweh first and where we are born and what religion we are born into is secondary to that. Islam. @@chrismixlewis With respect Chris bhai, 3 years is a flash in the pan for this 72 year old traveller and imho negative "clickbait" thumbnails such as this are a little insincere misleading and possibly disingenuous. Yes I know business is business and this is your job as a content provider and clicks/views/likes and comments bring in the money for you and for You Tube. But I'm not sure your intention is to deceive and is entirely about "making You Tube work" and making money. Maybe you don't realise it but your videos can have an influence, both good and bad on people's opinion and understanding of a culture foreign to many. Your video content can affect viewers emotions and also show us a very compassionate, honest and genuinely loving side to your character, which is highly commendable and lacking in some vloggers but again with respect and from my personal point of view as someone with twice as many years of life and travel experience as you, at times, albeit not very often, your naivety does sneak through and dare I say it, maybe it colours your judgement. If I'm coming across as condescending and/or patronising then feel free to tell me to stfu. By the way I do admire and am a little jealous of your language skills, which is one of the main reasons your vlogs appeal to me. آپ اردو اچھی بولتے ہیں۔ Asalaam u aleikum. Pakistan zindabad. 🙂

Alot of loves to you both and this is not the dangerous market , even the peshawer and quetta(along with boarder of Afghanistan) where the pashtun lives and in Afghanistan(the land of pashtuns) where the pashtuns lives twices from pakistan are also the safest place for you ! Even the talibans is a pashtuns movement and the pashtuns are so friendliest people ! If you talk to them with love, they will love you twice as much .

    2 жыл бұрын

@@wasim5627 I agree Wasim bro. It's a great video and Chris is a great vlogger, but it's all about the perception of the thumbnail (in this case being used as clickbait) and with this thumbnail I was expecting something bad about the people in this Pakistani market. At first I avoided watching the video as I don't need to see western travel vloggers showing the bad side of a foreign country when they are visitors there. Of course as I eventually watched the video I saw a beautiful side to these hard working people in the market and Pakistani culture. I think Chris was not strictly speaking "hit by a car", more of a bump than a hit. And anyway it was an auto ricksha and not a car. But in the end vlogging is a job; it's a business and to survive, a business has to make money and the more people click and like and comment on the video the more money You Tube makes, the more money the vlogger makes and if some of that money gets back to the people in the video, then I guess we can say it's not all bad. Asalaam w aleikum.
