India has its own GPS which is navic and our militaries are using it from last 5 - 6 years it was launched in 2015 - 16 ! Now we have 8 navic satellite 🛰 which provides better data then GPS in India 🎉 And soon we were able to use Navic in our phones 😊

Most of the things he said are already made by Isro, like Indias own GPS - NaViC and its already working on our phones. Anti Satellite missile is also already made. And private Companies also have started launching satellites in Space one of the name is Skyroot.

I think ISRO should help SUPARCO to launch their space mission just to make Pakistani witness that “Earth is not flat”😂😂

Correction: ISRO came to life in 1967 but INCOSPAR was there since 1962. They launched the first rocket right next year after Rahbar-1 went to outer space. India has NAVIC as their Global Positioning System which is pretty much working and being used by Defence, they have just sent over a new satellite which makes it easier for civilian use, without any new sensor requirement in the phones.

The biggest thing he got wrong is that ISRO was never meant for national security. We dont look at space from national security lens like Pakistan. ISRO does military tasks but its a completely civilian agency meant to work for betterment of people and not only for military. Its a documented principle. BTW ISRO is planning to launch their first Solar mission Aditya L1 on 26th of august for study of Sun.

NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) means Sailor in Hindi, the Indian GPS system is already used by defence from 2016. From 1st April 2019, use of AIS 140 compliant NavIC-based vehicle tracking systems were made compulsory for all commercial vehicles in India. NavIC (GPS) is planned to be available soon for civilian use in mobile devices, after Qualcomm and ISRO signed an agreement.

Indian navigation system started way back in 2016, it is called Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System(IRNSS) popularly known as NavIC..Currently it has a constellation of 7 satellites with a coverage of entire south asia and half of China..ISRO is working hard to launch more satellites to the constellation in order to make it a global navigation system.

Whenever I hear About Pakistani's Saying "Ki Agar Funding Milega toh hum bhi kar lenge" Science is not About Getting Funding and Doing Experiments. Science is all About Curiosity "ki kam se kam resource mai bhi hum kaise hasil kare" and that's why ISRO is so successful. Pakistani's are seeing ISRO today but we as Indians always remember that picture of rocket parts caring through bullock cart. So, Agar Science me aage badna hai toh yeh sochna padega ki jo hai usse hum kya kar sakhte hai apne mulk ke lia, naki aise hi bhaite raho aur jab funding aahega tab kuch sochenge. ISRO was initially used for weather prediction, water management, disaster management and other things which can help the economy and uplift people's standards, Kargil showed the importance of localised GPS for military use

ISRO was previously The Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR), set up by The Government of India in 1962, as envisioned by scientist Vikram Sarabhai, recognising the need in space research. INCOSPAR grew and became ISRO in 1969, within DAE.[8] In 1972, the government of India set up a Space Commission and DOS, bringing ISRO under it. In 1950, the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) was founded with Bhabha as its secretary. It provided funding for space research throughout India. During this time, tests continued on aspects of meteorology and the Earth's magnetic field, a topic that had been studied in India since the establishment of the Colaba Observatory in 1823. In 1954, the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) was established in the foothills of the Himalayas. The Rangpur Observatory was set up in 1957 at Osmania University, Hyderabad. The launch of the first sounding rocket from Thumba near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on 21 November 1963, marked the beginning of the Indian Space Programme . Sounding rockets made it possible to probe the atmosphere insitu using rocket-borne instrumentation. Rehbar was a series of sounding rockets launched into the upper atmosphere by Pakistan's Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO). Rehbar-I was the first rocket launched by SUPARCO, on 7 June 1962.In 1961, NASA realized that the Indian Ocean region was a black hole of data relating to the wind structure of the upper atmosphere which was badly needed for NASA's satellite/Apollo programs. NASA offered all countries on the littoral of the Indian Ocean help to establish rocket ranges in order to obtain such data on condition of fully sharing it with NASA. President Ayub Khan accompanied by his Chief Scientific Advisor Prof. Abdus Salam were on a state visit in the U.S. at the time. Pakistan seized the offer and Prof. Abdus Salam invited Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission's (PAEC) senior engineer Tariq Mustafa to join him in meeting with NASA officials in September 1961 to finalize the arrangement and Pakistan was the first country to take up the offer.

It doesn't matter if a country has the best scientists to ever existed on earth if the politicians don't listen to them. Just look at Pakistan. They had good scientists but the govt didn't care. Today...at 3.8 trillion economy, our space program is called unnecessary coz we are too poor. Just imagine how much pressure would have been on nehru ji back then when we were much much much more poor and just a new country with very few resources. One correction though - Indian Navic is already incorporated in most mobiles sold in India and we have a constellation of satellites focussed on whole of south asian region. So slowly these Navic enabled mobile phones would find its way in the whole region. Less dependency on the whims and fancies of US defence organisations.

A little correction. Indian space program foundation was also laid in 1962 with Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR). ISRO was setup later but the work had already started in '62.

India had a great leader called Abdul Kalam sir. He is the backbone of the nation.

National security was just one of the areas ISRO was supposed to take care of . This fact actually is disclosed in the web series Rocket Boys but it was cleanly understand , that it was mainly to convince politicians in the opposition or else they would oppose fund sanction because the left wing also argued why a poor country like India needs a Space Programme . Vikram Sarabhai was against India’s Nuclear Programme so forgot about ISRO being used for Military Purpose . Had ISRO’s goal been National security then India would have had a surveillance satellite long time back .

Satellites are not just national they sometimes serve multi-national interests. South Asia Satellite -> India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives

Space and satellite programmes aren’t meant solely for defence, for India, the space and satellite programs help in wider study of our solar system, it’s impact on weather and ecology, study of water bodies, rivers, oceans, terrain, communication, navigation, weather forecast, study of minerals and so many other things, which I probably am not aware at all.
