I remember watching this test, I remember the commentators all morning saying we, NZ, was going to win, when Wasim and Waqar started to rack up the wickets, they then went on to say their spell would be over soon so still on track, only one commentator said Wasim and Waqar could bowl out NZ because of Wasim's short run up they could bowl longer, being to fast bowlers. I loved watching this innings, even though I'm a kiwi :-) Wasim for me was the best bowler at the time and I still hold him as 1 of the best fast bowlers ever, specially when he shortened up his run up for no loss of true ball speed!

That's some bowling by Wasim great effort no one will dare it today.

A simply sensational effort by the two W's who bowled in tandem and basically were too good for the NZ team of the day. At that time (early to mid 1990s) Pakistan played NZ frequently and both W's recorded best figures against Kiwi batsmen in NZ (Wasim 7-119 in tests; Waqar 6-30 in ODIs). NZ batsman were fodder for the wickets column of both W's. Defending just 127 and to win by 33 runs is some performance.

I remember the two ws bowled continuously on last day 14 overs each.

Some people may be surprised to note that Wasim Akram bowled 22 over unchanged in the second innings.

Waqar also took 4 in the 1st innings so surprised why Wasim bagged man of the match, maybe bcz he bowled unchanged in 2nd innings...

Ken Rutherford was a poor uninspiring captain and a weak batsmen to have represented New Zealand ever. Always thought how in the world he could succeed Martin Crowe post his retirement.
