I love how you blend, it's still rough but it's intentional

basically wrote the exact same thing then saw your comment, it amazes me every time
A very depurated technique. 1. Imprimatura 2. Drawing with the brush 3. Blocking of shadow masses 4. Light area 5. Brighter areas 6. Blend 7. Surrounding 8. Information in shadow areas 9. Reflected light 10. Speculars 11. Details (Back and forth in the previous stages) Could have be doe in a more mechanical procedure, but it demonstrates the ability of the painter to make the painting even better, or the focus on which he seems to be dealing more.

Depurated: cleansed; freed from impurities.
The way you're able to create form in the figure is so amazing. Pure magic
For some reason, the initial portion where you block in the shading/lighting and make the basic structure of the figure is my favorite. I usually have trouble starting out paintings so it's fun to watch how others do it
This deserves more views

Ugh I love it! Your renditions really give a lot of attention to shapes within the picture and i love that. It gives it a very raw and beautiful look.
LarrivaArt, have you considered doing online courses to help people learn your style? It is so inspiring to me. It is my personal dream to be able to emulate it and combine it with spontaneous realism.

Perfecto !!!! 👌
amaizing...
Just bravo,!!!
Great painting:)
perfect
it's bizarre, that even when I see it in black and white, I still find the texture and contrast between colors more beautiful in colorful paintings.
I like it very much, but to be honest I liked it at 6:00 more than the final state. I thought it was more expressive and interesting.

Yes, i enjoyed the contrast of the brownish background. It felt more lively. Both are beautiful to look at
Wow... I'm always in suspence on what you will paint next and like always I'm amazed. Do you use references or are these just people you create in your mind?

Great
Thank you for this video. I slowed it down to .25 speed and tried for about 2 hours and it came out somewhat like this but I'm not mad at it for my first oil painting 😁
I’m so going to start painting in black and white so I can get my painting fundamentals up

Good idea. Value organization is more important than color, in my opinion.

LarrivaArt value does top color, considering that you can use any color palette in any painting as long as the values are correct. I’ve honestly tried oil and acrylic paint but never got the values right. It would ether be to saturated or very high hues in some areas. Even when painting the colors harmonies I couldn’t get them to blend natural. But I think I should start with the basics black and white to gain confidence in my painting abilities with value. Thanks for showing this by the way it helped a lot!
Black people have amaizing features. They wonderful subjects for drawing and paintings.
Music on the background; 50% walking on the snow 30% melody-ish kinda thing 20% lil' bitta beat

N A That literally makes no sense
wow
been trying to kinda do the same with acrylics you should try them and play with the pain't consistency to get the same resistance as the oil painting but way more vibrant colors and wider range of hues than the oil yellowish hues

What mix of colors You used it?
I have a question. Do you let each coat dry, or you pile more layers on the same wet layer?
@LarrivaArt
5 жыл бұрын
Wet on wet on wet on wet. This is all done in one hour long session.
for someone just starting to portrait paint how would you suggest they start?
@LarrivaArt
5 жыл бұрын
Everyone has a different base they're starting from. I can't say I had trouble starting, I just really wanted to paint heads and did it to the best of my ability. For some, careful measuring of proportions is the best way to start. Others might find it better to jump in with color. It all depends on what you want to achieve and what your current skill set is.

I,m fine
hello Larriva , its me again, i was wondering by what name i can find the hard wooden board in the market, is their any specification also wanted to know what is the process that u did after cutting the wood, sorry i belong to a very remote place, and finding art stuffs and resources here is very difficult
@LarrivaArt
6 жыл бұрын
It goes by hardboard or masonite. There's also medium density fiberboard(MDF) which is a little different but can also be used for a substrate. Wood products should be primed with gesso before painting.
@Ximalao
6 жыл бұрын
thank you for getting back :-) , oh i just noticed i commented in the wrong video, in that wood cutting video actually , u did something with a machine after cutting every board, were you giving texture to it?
@LarrivaArt
6 жыл бұрын
Oh, that was a power sander. You can also hand sand with fine sandpaper. I like to bevel the edges a little. Also, if the boards are very slick, some texture helps the gesso adhere better.
