Painting with ink and bleach Episode 1
welcome to a new series in which I ditch the chainsaw and relax with a brush in my garden!
As a trained illustrator I've always loved drawing and painting, and want to share that bit of my life with you all!
so relax, grab a cup of tea, and watch as I splash some ink and bleach on a piece of watercolor paper...

I’m in love with your technique. I’ve used bleach at times to soften a blueblack color and push it back. lol. I never knew anyone else doing this. I kept it secret bc folks can tend to be so frightened of “acid” and just did want controversy over something quite lovely. 😂. Love you for this. ❤and a darling kitty too!!
I really love this. You have captured the essence of that stretch so well. Thank you. 🥰

Watching a second time, I was wondering about the type of paintbrush you used. Was it by any chance a Japanese/Chinese type calligraphy brush?
I never heard of adding bleach to an ink drawing, but it's fantastic! I love how free and gestural it allows you to be, really capturing the movement ! Thank you, you've shown me something I need to try today! 😁
Nice work Simon 🤩

Thank you!
Lovely little painting! I'm actually doing a chainsaw cat at the moment, wish it were as easy as you make it look!

Thank you! To be fair cats are difficult to carve! My first one looked awful!
