Painting with Hybrid Lustre Dust by Emma's Sweets
I always love to test out new products and determine the best way to apply them onto my cookie art. Trying out almost every dust on the market, I have become a HUGE fan of the Roxy and Rich product lines. This is why I have decided to carry them in my shop and pass these products on to YOU!:

In this video, I am using AZTEC GOLD Hybrid Lustre dust: emmassweets.ca/collections/sh...
The first application is using EVERCLEAR alcohol.
This, in my opinion, is the best method and yields the best results. Shiny and smooth surface and dries very quickly with NO DUSTY RESIDUE as many other dusts leave behind.
The second application is with Smirnoff Vodka. As you can see, it changed the appearance of the colour!! The end result is a grainy looking surface. Almost as though it is eating away at the surface.
The last application is with Lemon Exctract. I was really surprised at how beautifully it applied!
The same applications can be used with Highlighter Dusts.

i had no idea that the different alcohols would affect the dust so dramatically! I have been using Everclear for several months and I think I will just continue to enjoy it! Thank you for another great video.

I has NO IDEA either!! I knew that Everclear would be the top choice, but didn't realize that the colour would be affected!

@@rhondamilton2426 I get mine at my local liquor store but I know some states (like California) do not sell it. If you can't get it, just get the highest proof vodka you can buy.

I'm doing chocolate and tempering and so on with molds, can I add a little of that color in the mod before I add the chocolate ?
What kind of projector do you use. I noticed kopykake. But I see different ones from them
Does it matter what ABV/proof the Everclear is?
Can you use white Rum?

The alcohol evaporates. Won’t harm anyone
Thank you for this video definitely will be using lemon extract cause i illegally cant purchase ever clear .
Hello! Does the ever clear change the taste of the icing? I plan on using my luster dust with ever clear but wasn’t sure about the flavor after it has dried. Can you also tell me if it does dry down like royal icing? I will be packing my cookies and I am wondering if it will smear on the cellophane. Thank you so much!!!

Absolutely no taste whatsoever! And I do sometimes get a tiny smearing with my gold dust but if you lightly brush your dried cookie with cornstarch, that solves the probem.
Why does the vodka one look more orange then gold?

Thanks for the video but I would think in order to get accurate results you would need to ensure all mixtures are the same amount I.e. 1 oz of liquid and 1 oz of dust. Just my opinion.

Yes the alcohol evaporates.
Ill the luster dust mixed with lemon extract dry

The dust is dry and then mixed with the extract - where it becomes liquid
Is lemon extract the same as lemon juice? X

I think nope .. the only you can get best result by using alcohol ..lemon extract got alcohol .. lemon juice not
Does cookie taste like alcohol?
