18 inch rollers are specifically for industrial use rather than domestic decorating. Theres are different size rollers and different types of sleeves for different surfaces from 9 in to 21 in ,You never roll sideways ffs.. Thats why the ceilings are first, then walls and timber is painted last

I paint with a 12" roller, which in theory is 33% smaller than this roller. Then why does it take me 300% longer to paint a wall?? I need to solve for some missing constant, "k"

Could be you're not using the extension also you need to calculate using the half distance = 6" inches so that makes it smaller because you don't use the whole 12" inches on each stroke.

18 inch rollers are specifically for industrial use rather than domestic decorating. Theres are different size rollers and different types of sleeves for different surfaces from 9 in to 21 in ,You never roll sideways ffs.. I've been a pro decorator for 40 yrs trained to city & guilds standard UK and never once rolled a wall sideways.. A proffesional.decorator would also be wearing protective overalls.
I hope that floor is being replaced!!
Only amatuer cut in 15 cm wide 😜👍
