Another great video. Nice work. I’m currently using your technique for T-80 tanks. I’ll use this on my T-62/55’s.

Why do you use an odorless thinner? Or a thinner at all?

  • @jicsminiatures

It is to clean enamel excess. Odorless because it smells like a dead dog.

Do you need rubbing alcohol to wipe away?

To remove wash stains. First clean with a dry paper or cloth, then clean with a brush or cotton stick moistened with thinner. never use alcohol.

Fantastic as always...I'm looking at an East German force for the new Warsaw Pact book. Given this was a few years ago, is the anything you would do differently now? I always am inspired by your videos.

Thank you!😃 Well, the primer spray is no longer manufactured, better use NATO Green 71.612. Protect the paint with satin varnish before applying the wash. I would add some streaking effect, like in the T-80 video. On the tracks use Track Primer 70.304. For dust and mud you can use the products from any of my other videos, the one that you like more. I hope I have helped you.😉

thanks for the video, prompted me to make a start on my own models. For the shadow wash phase with the AK Interactive stuff, do you give the model a coat of varnish beforehand to stop the thinner pulling the previous layers off when swiping away?

No, you don't need varnish before use washes. But, if you want, you can do it. The paint will be better protected when you clean excess with thinner.

@@jicsminiaturesthanks for the reply. Also, Odorless thinner? What sorcery is this, any suggestions? I done a test model using white spirits but even outside it stank to high hell!

You can try the odorless thinner from AK Interactive, his odor is equal to zero. ak-interactive.com/product/odorless-thinner-100-ml/

@@jicsminiatures first batch done, only another 10x T55's, 10x T72's, 20x BMP, 3x Carnation, 4x Hind, 50x infantry stands to do... Again thanks for vid, without it I'd probably still be procrastinating about it! imgur.com/a/EueFksz
