Painting Sound on a Magnetic Canvas (pt1)
Музыка
My invention, which I call "the ScrubBoard," features a "conveyor belt" of two-inch audio tape that is seated under a wide guide platter that allows any number of play, record, or erase heads to be placed along the length of the tape. The result is a kind of "analog audio sandbox" with endless potential for performative experimentation. In this video I demonstrate one such experiment -- using the record head as a "sonic paintbrush" to paint my voice onto the tape.

Thank you! I'm not gonna lie -- I fully expected this video to go viral, and I was really bummed out that it didn't, cause it's my favorite of all my videos. I actually do have one video from 2017 that got several million views (though not on my platform) and I feel like this video is way, way better than that one. Oh well.. you just never know which ones people are gonna like..
Seems like the issue with magnetic viewing film is just a matter of amplification. Maybe have a “viewing” section that is place over an amplified inductor?
Genius at work. The fun is grand !
I really like all your works
Woah... you are like next level brilliant man
Pure awesomeness
Awesome idea!
You're a lunatic! I love it!
0:45 yet it does work that way.....Kinda......On a creditcard you can make the barcode of the magn. stripe visible with fine iron powder, same goes for audiotape.(no "barcode" though, unless digital tape) Know this because I tried it. It is not in the format you faked though. Scotch 'Magnetic Viewer 600' powder was also used for that.
Hi, cool scratching device) About viewing music on a tape, there is a way, though It's not a nice big waveshape, but a very small strokes (at least in the video). There is actually a comment about magnetic paper in the description that "They don’t have the same resolution or sensitivity - at least the ones I’ve bought don’t. They can’t show the magnetic signal and track layout on a tape. Nothing registered when I tried.". Maybe that'll help. The video with device demo: kzread.info/dash/bejne/k46D2tBxl8q-aNo.html
waw...! super super!! :::)
