Do you seal after painting?

we can seal it if the customer wants it and willing to pay the cost, however i do not recommend sealer on top for many reasons and on a typical pool deck job we do not seal.

I noticed in some of your older videos you acid etch and sand, but have eliminated those steps in your newer videos. Why is that? Also, I am looking to use HC color top (in FL) stain and the tech sheet says to sand but not etch. Not really sure how to do that on an existing painted surface that has knockdown. Any thoughts?

no need to etch if deck was painted before you can still use muriatic acid for cleaning but tsp substitute works the best www.homedepot.com/p/SAVOGRAN-1-qt-Liquid-TSP-Substitute-Cleaner-10632/205491255 as far as sanding we still do it when needed but most time it is not needed so that is why you don't see it in videos

ABN Painting thanks for the prompt reply. I decided to go with acrylic deck. You are pretty much the only one doing these videos on KZread. Thx.
