Hey guys! Today I wanted to try something a little bit different. I decided to try sculpting with Das air dry clay. I wanted to make some original clay creations and paint them myself. I feel like it's so satisfying to watch sculpting and then painting on clay. I've seen those tiktok clay painting videos hahah. So this has been on my video idea list for a long time. I am very much so a beginner when it comes to clay, so I wanted to stick to some fun and easy things to make with air dry clay. I think air dry clay is much more beginner friendly than polymer clay, and I really enjoyed working with this brand. Although, of course, the most fun part of creating things with clay, is painting and decorating the clay in the end. I ended up making some cute, custom clay figurines, I hope you like them!

Hey! my name is Moriah (pronounced muh-rye-yuh 😂 ) and this is my channel....obviously. I'm 26 and like doing anything creative...and being snarky.....just a lil. Blobs are such a simple concept and yet one of my favorites you’ve done
I love how you can tell she makes things over extensive periods of time because of the changes in nail color.

I've been dying to try air dry clay. I've worked with polymer clay, but the air dry looks so much easier to work with, plus your blobs are adorable. My favorite is the green frog blob...awesome!
I have had possibly one of the worst days of my life today, but hearing the words “hey it’s me!” Made my day much better thank you Moriah for always being there for me and other fans! Edit 1: Thanks for all the likes. Edit 2: looking through the comments lots of you are asking what it wrong and I am going to explain: So my crush asked my friend out and it broke my heart to find out he doesn’t like me, I thought he did as we are close. Clay tip: To make the pieces stick better, make or use “slicker” which is LiQuId clay. You can make this by mixing dry, crushed, powdered clay with water. And then do what you do, but after cutting some small cuts in the clay, add the slicker, and then set the accessory or body part. (It’s okay if the slicker is kinda thin or thick) we use clay at school, and this is what our art teacher thought us. great video😍 Edit: Also, if the creation has any little sharp speckles, just sand those down😉 it’s okay)

So interesting to watch this as a ceramicist. Fun fact (slipping and) scoring does create a stronger bond in your work but it’s important to use so your work won’t blow up in the kiln. It’s neat seeing what knowledge people do and don’t have haha
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate that Moriah is always ready to try something new weather or not she has done it before or if she even thinks it will work out or look good but she is open to failure but unlike other youtubers who never step outside of their comfort zone because they want to seem flawless and she does not mind if she fails but she is here to enjoy herself and she also hopes that we ourselves enjoy it. There is no content out there purer than this and i would like to thank her for that.

For attaching clay I learned in school that we said "scratch scratch water attach" which you do put lines/scratches then put a little drop of water or more based on how big the clay is. Make sure to put the water on the lines and dab it on then attach! 😊

The cards would be so wet from the paint and she wouldn't be able to put in good details because the card is too small. There are 52 cards in one deck. How about YOU try doing that and see how hard and impractical it is by doing it not digitally? Lol.

just a quick tip, if you're ever going to do clay figurines again: if you're using such thick bases then i recommend building them first out of aluminum foil, so you don't have to use so much clay. It will be lighter and it will dry better.
I maid a Blobs At Play poster with my first set of Pasca pens and I really like it 🎉. Moriah got me to appreciate and use hilights and I have made 50 art peases with hilights now. Tanks for the videos!

As a “sculptor” myself, this is NOT BAD, even for someone with a bit of experience. It’s in fact pretty dang good. Everybody I have seen trying it out the first few times had- neeear horrible results.
