Anish Kapoor bought the exclusive use of Vantablack. in response Stuart Semple created Blackest Black, which is not as black as Vantablack, but is available for everyone, EXCEPT Anish Kapoor. Anish Kapoor got a hold of it thru 3rd party means, and in response to that, Stuart Semple created Pinkest Pink, which is also not available to Anish. And then the Bean happened, and then people started saying paint the Bean pink, yada yada.

@@FORGOTTENMINDFREAK23 no, no Vantablack is still the blackest black. Semple's latest blackest black is around 1% less blacker, which i doubt is even visible to the naked eye. But it's not as toxic as Vantablack is.

@@lowkeyobsessedngl I think there is a black that’s darker than Vanta, but it’s not made by Semple or Kapoor. Semple’s paints are by far the most accessible, and yeah, doesn’t change the look according to the human eye, the differences are only measurable with light detecting electronics.

The paintings were fire and the stream overall was so darn wholesome. I love how usually when someone gets interviewed for some campaign they've started people expect some huge inspirational and hearwarming origin story, but when they asked in this stream about how this fundraiser campaign started, the answer was practically "yeah so we had a group chat." I just find it so charming how much can come out of casual relations and connections between likeminded, responsible and compassionate creators and influencers. I'm not saying organizing this could have been easy, I recognize a lot goes into something like this. But that's not as important to them as the cause itself and how it brought the people together through those connections they've build as collegues and friends. It's not about how great of a heroism it has been for them to make this happen, how hard it has been for them or how much time and effort they've had to sacrifice for it. I just appreciate them for making it about the cause and about showing their support instead of bolstering their own status with it. It's so sweet. Genuity goes a long way.

Hey, as its something very specific, I imagine that you guys are not aware of what is happening. But there is a big big tragedy happening right now here in Brasil / Rio Grande do Sul. 450 of all 497 cities were affected. People are drowning, cities disappearing maybe for ever. A lot of them dont have power in their houses anymore, dont have water.. I dont really know how any of you that are reading can help, but those who can, please try. Thank you.

40:47 Stewart Semple!! You signed an agreement when you purchased his stuff that you will not ever sell to Anish Kapoor. Anish did eventually manage to get someone to break that agreement for some amount of money and managed to get some. And I think he stuck his finger in it or something, cause Stewart responded by making a glass shard glitter for Anish to put his fingers in… something like that. Stewert’s website does have Black 3.0 which while not as black as Vantablack, it’s functionally the same to the human eye. Give a bottle to your art department and see what they create.
