People you have to understand that the judges have seen and know the whole history of art! They may not pick the artist you like but they do pick someone "interesting"! They're looking for something new that they haven't quite seen before. Usually the person they choose create an exquisite piece of art for the final! So I say all that to say I do understand the judges choices after watching many seasons of this awesome show. They're searching for the next great artist and Curtis drawing skills can't be denied!

I must admit that I'm looking forward to viewing the final piece that Curtis has created of dancer Carlos Acosta. I actually would have chosen Kofi, although I really liked the style and approaches of all three artists for this seventh season final competition. I think Curtis was the more bold choice, since we normally think of a commissioned portrait as a painting. Hopefully, Curtis' approach will produce an artwork full of movement and motion, and that might be perfect for capturing the likeness of a dancer.

So weird. Just my opinion, but... Didn't think any of these 3 final portraits were good enough. The sketchiness of Curtis' work is interesting but incomplete. I think Sara's came closest to a likeness and some sort of evocative feeling, & her commission piece of her teacher was the best. I would have given her the win.

I have had different opinions from these judges in several episodes over the years, but these three artists were good and the judges’ decision was probably difficult. I can agree with their choice of Curtis in this final, because his work is so out of the ordinary, but good! His commission was powerful (as were the other two) but so unique. I can see his style of art for the dancer who will be the subject of the final commission. I bet he can capture the movement and toned body of the dancer. Good choice!

Trying to remember who Eddie reminds me of in right profile - I think it's the grown-up version of Miss Joan Hunter-Dunne in Betjemann's poem. Blonde, blue-eyed, and a take charge kinda gal.

Curtis' scribbles are too faint to produce a clearly discernible image, so the goofy judges chose him as winner.

@@gammyshouse , agree. Each new season, I pray the producers will choose new judges. And I'm always disappointed. All these judges care about is something modern and different. Quality and talent doesn't enter into their decisions. As I've commented before, neither Rembrandt, DaVinci nor Rubens would make it into their top three.

surprising. I Think this program has ran its course. Get New judges. Change the format a bit. Quite annoying to interrupt the artists while working. Very emotional and inspiring for a while. Think it’s over now. Scrap it. You completely lost me with this one
