In this video I challenge myself to paint these ducks with the intention of keeping the painting loose and abstract while still looking "unfinished". It's a lot harder to not fill up the canvas when that's all I'm used to! I still had lots of fun and learned from the experience and hope to try that out again.

I love that challenge you set for yourself! I think doing things like that is a great way to learn and grow ☺ And the painting came out beautifully! I love seeing the different elements come to life - not just the ducks and turtles, but also the plants/leaves and the ripples in the water.

La pittura gestuale con pochi tratti, è quella che si realizza con l'intera gestualità del pennello. Non solo di punta ma anche di lato. In cui il segno cambia a seconda della pressione, del gesto e della velocità o meno della pennellata. È uno stile della vecchia scuola, molto adatto per il paesaggio e per l'esecuzione alla prima. Si esegue una sottopittura, in cui il gesto è libero non troppo studiato, non grafico e si completa con un unico strato. Questo strato si realizza incastrando pennellata su pennellata. Per farlo bisogna essere molto esperti, per questo è molto difficile da realizzare. Perché bisogna sapere esattamente quale segno serve, per quell'ombra, per quella luce e per quella forma, perché andrà fatta con un unico gesto e successivamente incastrata con un altro segno e basta. È una danza tra segni. In cui il pennello viene trascinato, poggiato, ruotato su se stesso. È un'arte a parte. Su KZread ci sono pochi esempi di questo stile. Le anatre sono ancora troppo piatte, lontane dall'incastro tra pennellate, mentre il fogliame con le rocce, sono molto più vicine come stile, brava. Non avendo una scuola su questo, hai fatto veramente molto. Questo è un buon inizio 🙂
