I really like it! I know this is a silly question but have you tried Gloss floor polish? It's so much cheaper and a lot less Stinky and better on the lungs. It's really shinny. Just an idea. I only use it to clear my models. I find 3 coats are all is needed.

in the early 70's I had a 60's model chevy van that was black and had the same desert mural on both sides, you did a great job

Dude! You have reached or soared to an Astronomically Higher Level! Takes me back to High School when Vans were a big thing. I can see Jeff Spicoli walking out of this Van! You definitely hit this one out of the Ball Park. The paint work is stellar! Nuff Said!

That paint stripper is some serious shit. Paint blistered almost immediately. You should keep your eyes open for the VW vans made by Majorette in the 1970's and 1980's. They are really cool, and worth customising. Great work here, as always. Nice one.

Spray the body with a thin coat of white primer. Apply the decals. Apply a second coat of white primer, painting around the decals and blending the edges of them with the white. Then, spray your transparent candy color over that, blending it in over the white around the decals.

Almost at that 100,000! Let’s go!

The van came out pretty cool. Maybe you can add some side pipes to hide the clunky chassis.

Got itm Jimmy! Back in the mid seventies pretty much every cool paint job, candies, metal flake, flames or murals were painted by the same guy here where I live. In fact when I dinged the front end of my '72 Vega GT I had him do a flame job on it.

It worked, decal seams disappeared! Needs Cragar's and fatties in the rear for my "been at the van-ins" taste, but you nailed it. Gleek-a-gleek great end to van week, thank you.

Hey! Cool project. I'm working on modding my first two cars, and got to a point and messed up a bit. Watching this video last night helped to learn that nothing's permanent, and now they're both covered in Citrustrip, and I'm going to take another run at them. Thanks. Like the channel.

Looks really real. Neat trick. I am working on a 55 jeep panel truck. Much work to do yet. I am putting something in the panel area. You have given me ideas to achieve the look I want. I was stuck on how to finish it up.

Congrats for not giving up on this project after a couple setbacks, the end result looks sweet!! Couple of suggestions for you, you could turn van week into van month, or should l say...No-VAN-ber. Which comes after Pro-Stock-tober, the month of building drag cars! I'd come up more names but I'll have to start charging. First ones are free!

I think it worked out really well. I think a Dark Chocolate brown might have been a better color choice though.

Novus 2 fine scratch remover is awesome for polishing plastic. I used to use it on my racing helmet shields and it took all the scratches off from dirt track racing.

You used some chemical on another decal a while ago that sort of "softened" the edge of the decal. It helped to make the decal blend into the paint to make it smoother. It might have been micro set but i cant recall. It was a while ago. Pre-pandemic.
