Wow, I randomly picked this video to watch and realized I knew her mother. The two of us worked together right up until she got sick. Last we spoke she called me to tell me she was retiring and not coming back. Knowing what a great person she was doesn’t surprise me at all as to what a beautiful person her daughter Jessie is. This painter is incredibly skilled and comes across as a genuinely kind-hearted individual. The girl he is painting and interviewing has an extraordinary story, and she is really sweet. It's fantastic how he uses his platform to showcase his talent while also sharing the stories behind the masterpieces he creates.

"Try to understand people who disagree with you. Don't get stuck in your own version of reality such that you lose sight of trying to figure out what's true. Try and broaden your own perspective". Word.

What a beautiful strong young woman. You captured that so well.

Being able to sit and talk is probably the best tool in your paint box. By the same token, sitting for a portrait and answering questions makes it easier to forget yourself and really open up in a way you probably wouldn’t even with a therapist. Her portrait turned out amazing.

I've been watching you work/play for a long time and the joy you bring to some is amazing to watch, like somebody has had a crap day and you restore their faith in mankind and cheer them up and give them some from your heart that they will cherish, love watching these, love watching your talent grow too, keep on keeping on man!

A couple of touchy subjects that's for sure.

Im going to hate winter cuz these are so amazing. She is amazing.

Question for Devon or another portrait artist. The position of all your portraits have a lot of white space above the head of your subject. And the you sign in the upper right hand corner. Most artists sign in the lower right hand corner. Are you centering the head of the subject so the eyes are in the middle of the paper? Or is there some other magic balance issue at play. Love to hear an answer from other artists or even from Devon. Thank you, love your work.
