Hello Friends and Followers!
since about 2 years you are waiting for a real 3D blocks tutorial, in which i explain all the details of my 3D Blocks and which rules make them look like they look. It is all about shadows, light, and simply having enough shades of all colours, because you need lighter shades for reflections and light and need darker ones for the shading. I try to break it all down to easy and understandable rules and spread my knowledge here for you… So lean back, take some notes, and maybe see this video multiple times… If you still got any questions - please use the comments section!!
Much love - SMOE

I invented this rule first and foremost to not try to have to convince the assholes who take out a ruler to tell you a shadow is too long. It is about painting and fun and making yourself happy. Like baking a cake for yourself. You would also eat it with happiness, when it is a little bit to crusty. because you do this stuff for yourself, not for others. And YOU alone decide when it looks right.

I’m very very new to graffiti and initially I always thought detailed graffiti was based off good base lettering, but straight away you find out it’s the colours, shadows, details, and everything else that makes the piece pop. I love the process of graffiti which is almost like layering, and bit by bit you see the words and shapes start to come to life. Anyway just want to say thank you for your content man, you might not realise it but your work is such an inspiration for people like me and your tips and tricks have saved so much time and given me great knowledge to take with me into my own work. Hopefully one day I could do a piece with you…even if mine did look like a kids sketch next to yours 😂

The letters are the most important thing. If they don‘t flow, without innovation, you can paint a colorful Piece, but it‘s still shit. That‘s it.

Really amazing how much it pops out of the wall. The patterned background really adds a lot as well to the effect. The whole piece feels like it came straight out of a comic book or pop media

Wow this is so helpful - been looking for this level of detail in can technique forever - wish it was around when I was in high school... :) Been trying to figure out color for so long and this is it! Just broke out in nyc for the first time in 20 years and got the bug again (why I'm here). Wish I saw this first - struggled getting my lines right, straight and clean. This is great tutorial. Your work is amazing and just on another level. Thank you so much!

Thanks to Doke several years I came across your good self, and have loved over the years watching your Vids, I never knew Germans to be so crazy bonkers as yourself so your always a pleasure to watch. I've been into Graff since the early 80's and painted a bit back then, but stopped in the early 90's (due to spending with my/Girlfriend (now wife) and spending untold amounts of money on records). A good friend Skore TRC got me painting again a couple of years ago which lasted a year due to a couple of surgeries, but I'm looking at starting again. Which brings me to my message, I love the way you do your 3D (Blocks) and has made me want to emulate how you do it, I don't consider this biting as several artists do it, but none as crazy and enjoyable as yourself, so it's nice to see your procedure (although being an avid viewer I'd worked it out a while ago, but just not had a chance to put it in motion). The only thing I'm concerned is I also like the way you do your cut sections, as I've never seen any other artist do this, so my dilemma is if I also use this am I a biter 🤔 I'm thinking not as its no difference to melting two letters or connecting them. Anyway thanks for being an inspiration and a joy to watch, 🙏🙏🙏 Diseone TLS

I allow you to do the slicing the way i do it... I did not invent it too - it was my father, who is always right... I did the slicing withouzt the thin line until 2012 i think... and then he demonstrad me with two pieces of paper that there needs to be a thin lineto show where the slice happens... and this is why i call this thin line, that is not an outline, the "DAD-line"... all honor to my dad. hahaha but to be sure, I can call him, and ask if he is fine with it. hahaha

Knowing this light and shadows thing is only about 10% of the work . Doing it on paper or digital then months and years of practice to do it with cans . Thanks a lot for the info , your lines are so smooth . ❤️❤️👏👏

yes, sure, i do not expect anyone to do the same without any practice…. i think you need at least 5 years of practice to something similar

This is EXACTLY what’ve wanted to understand when I started 16 years ago, but there was no one available to explain it to me. And I didn’t know how to ask the right questions. And that’s why I subscribed. And that’s why it was worth waiting for this. From YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH for making one of my oldest and deepest dreams come true Thank you for existing
