Love your painting style and thanks for making this free demo for card-making!
Beautiful. I love the glow of the sun.
I love your videos, so many tips and ideas, freely given. You are really helping me improve my watercolour painting. Thank you so much. You are very kind Sarah
I used to paint a picture and take Lots of time with it. Then I’d go to a printer and have it reduced and copied. Made it very expensive. This is so lovely and it’s not a copy but as you say an original painting. It also looks like fun.....not so serious. Thank you for inspiring me. Ann Allen
Love your idea and such a good way to practice watercolor ideas without committing to a whole piece of paper. Thank you so much.
Very nice. Those handmade cards don't end up in the trash, another bonus. Here is a little trick of mine: if I am not happy with a large painting, I look carefully at it before throwing it away, and often find a couple of really pretty places. I cut them out and mat them and use them for greeting cards, or even bookmarks,( with a personal message added). Nothing wasted!!! Keep painting and posting. Such a treat!

Ah what a fantastic idea!!
Really enjoyed this and the previous videos on painting cards. I am a card maker and have been for many years, I have recently started painting my own plus some bookmarks to sell. I am finding these videos so very helpful and I love your tip on painting several pieces at the same time as it will save a lot of time and get loads made in one go.

Beautiful!
Thanks so much for this video, Patrick. I've been making cards with rubber stamps since 97, in fact that's how I got into art and discovered I have some artistic talent. But now that I've begun watercolor I've all but abandoned my cards, which is shameful considering my craft room stuffed full of supplies! This is a good way to combine my two addictions, er, hobbies. Looking forward to your next card making video! Jessica

Very useful thank you!
Beautiful work! Wow! I've never thought to sell my paintings on eBay. I put some wonderful new Kolinsky sables on to sell once and none sold and it cost me. I only asked for half of what I paid for them also. Now eBay frightens me from that bad experience.
I am starting out with greering cards after watching your card video. Quick and easy to learn ftom. I appreciate sll of your helpful tips. Also working with s limited pallette makes sense to me . Dana

I really enjoyed your tutorial Patrick. I am a beginner in Watercolour & would love to know if you are going to do Cards with snow or Christmas theme. I just came across your tutorials. I am glad I did. looking forward to your next tutorial. Thanks Patrick.
Thanks. Informative and enjoyable. I'm late to your party, and may have missed it, but how about a video on your mat cutting tips/technique. Enjoy your peripheral to the actual painting videos, such as making prints on your new printer. Continue to share your works. 🖒

I really enjoy the two videos on card paintings. I've eone two paintings the way you described. it was easier to do two, because of the drying times. I do suggest that you do the pictures using the same color schemes. I didn't and needed to mix up two sets of colors. thank you again for the ideas.

What size of watercolor did you paint the picture on? I realky like your style of painting. Dana
When you sell cards at the shop do they buy the card upfront or do they pay you once it sells? Seemsike the shop could forget and you lose money on the artwork card. How does that work? Great teaching Patrick.
Thank you for posting these very informative videos. If you mentioned it in your video, I apologize but where do you get those little mats? What size are they? Thank you so much.

Candeekissez - I've bought pre-cut mats at craft stores that sell fine art supplies. They come in different sizes to fit common sized frames. If the store offers a framing service they will cut a mat for you, but I've found the pre-cut mats were less expensive. You just need to make your artwork the right size to fit them.

You sound exactly like The Spin Doctor. Did you change your channel name and clean your desk? But you paint better. Amazing. Beautiful card or framed pic.

Thank you again for sharing your talent - I notice that you wait or the paint to dry...so many artists will say, "I'll get out the hairdryer", do you never use a hairdryer?

What "went wrong" with the painting on the back side of the paper you used? It looks lovely to me, sort of whimsical and care-free.

I purchased mine off ebay second hand. many cutters on there.
How much do you sell these for in$$. ?
Don't forget to sign your painting.
Do you have envelopes?
I really like your videos. What I don't like is that although I realize this video is a couple of years old, I notice that several questions have been asked and you haven't answered any of them. I think you should at least do your followers and people interested enough to watch your videos the courtesy of answering their questions.

+Patrick Ley-Greaves (Pure Watercolour) The "older" generation still sends cards, but I don't know any younger generation people who do. That's why I was wondering. Even the "older" generation often send e-cards. At least that's the way it often is here in America.

+Rosemary Clark well card sending in the UK is still happening. I promote my cards as something more than a disposable remembrance of a special day. If your preferences or budget prefers ecards are great.
@tillygirl56

+Rosemary Clark I paint and send them. Everyone who gets them comments on how special they were to them. Then they ask if I sell them. I can't bring myself to buy a ready made card any more. Middle aged in Texas...haha.
Please speak a little louder
Selling on Ebay😂😂😂😂? And how do you propose we do that? Each card is one of a kind. It cost money to reproduce them. Do people want reproductions? They can buy reproduced cards at the drug store or Walmart. And what are you going to charge for an original? You want to recoup the cost of matetials, right?😂😂😂😂
