PAINT BRICK MORTAR WALLS Scale Model Structures [A]
This is a how to video on my method (A) of adding mortar lines to your brick building structure. This method particularly utilizes a wash to achieve a quick, easy, realistic look for brick buildings and model railroad structures.
Using a wash changes your model from a plastic boring building to a convincing weathered structure. Practice on old models or brick surfaces to achieve the proper consistency. When you are happy with your results record what you have done to go back and copy the method that works best for you.
Painting brick walls is really easy, fast and cheap.

Quick question - after applying the wash you just let it dry and the excess moister evaporate / dry? No wiping off etc required?
Love this technique. What would you recommend doing to preserve the initial color a little more (in this case, having the brown shine through more than the grey- similar to how the white grout comes through in the other examples)? Also, really like the painted sign on the building at 8:54. Do you have a tutorial for that?
