My favorite part of this series is how the guests feel genuine, like they’re just hanging out talking about their favorite movie with a friend.

Awesome choice. I remember when James and Chelsea were covering the “Paranormal Activity” movies, they mentioned they viewed those movies as an allegory for sexual assault. A view I never dug because “The Entitiy” exists. No offense to those movies but “The Entity” is laser focused; it does such a better job at highlighting the horror of sexual assault in both the act itself and more importantly, in how the people you love and trust react to it with doubt.

This movie absolutely terrified me as a kid and still does as an adult because - d'uh - it's all about rape, and how even those closest to you won't necessarily believe that something horrific has happened to you. Doctors, police, etc. The scene where her friend finally sees what's happened and apologizes is a gut shot, Barbara Hershey portrays that RELIEF so well. And then the ending where she takes her life back, decides she is going to keep living, is just amazing.

The Lonely Astronaut That makes a lot of sense, I watch a lot of things. Hello there.
"The Entity" is unsettling the way it was filmed and the way the music was used. This movie is more frightening than "The Exorcist" I NEVER get scared watching a Horror movie, EXCEPT for this movie. It's just unnerving. "The Entity" is based on true events. The real events are the story of a woman named Doris Bither. No ghosts are involved. Just Entities (Demons)

She had Midsommar as a choice,Florence Pugh is lead there,And she played Paige in fighting with your family
This is a real deep cut because I know some people that place it closer to the sci-fi genre because of the way the use scientifically try to combat the titular Entity. I remember Barbara Hershey lately from the Insidious movies, but before that Swing Kids and The Black Swan. Surprised y'all didn't mention Ron Silver by name who played the medical professional because he has been in a whole bunch of stuff but I like his performances in The Arrival and Timecop. Alex Rocco as the boyfriend will always be known to me as the dad in *Dream A Little Dream* but of course he was also in the Godfather. For a moment I thought the quiz was not going to happen lol. It is cool how you get to see that the themes in certain movies had direct how you choose to interpret other movies from completely different genres. BTW that Pikachu in the coroner is cute and at times it looked like it was moving. B~)

Day of the dead: Everytime I watch there is something new I notice. Like all the chains Miguel wears belongs to his dead friends. Also you can see where each character is coming from when they make a decision. None of the characters were bad just in a bad situation.
I remember seeing some of The Entity as a kid while my Mother watched it after we watched The Burning Bed. All I can remember asking her was. "What's up with you and beds?" Also, love you Paige.

I was so happy when I saw this. "The Entity" is one of my favorite scary movies. I can't watch it at night and go to bed just after. It's one of my dad's favorite films and he was the one who showed it to me when I was 16 or so. It's got such amazing effects for the time as well.
So glad you guys talked about The entity. I'm a huge horror fan and it's the only film I've refused to watch again. I saw it when I was 13 and it terrifed me. I had literal nightmares about that music that I wouldn't want to go to sleep. Such an underrated film!
Really enjoying all of these interviews and the different perspective on some of the all time great horror movies.
I saw The Entity several years ago when I was in my early 20s and the one scene that sticks with me is when Hershey's character is assaulted in her sleep and feels guilty because she has an orgasm. That has to really screw you up. That movie took a lot of risks with this subject that you couldn't get away with today.
Y'all gotta give Charles Bernstein his due by at least getting his name right. Hell, Tarantino even used the Entity theme for Inglorious Basterds
Fun fact: Tarantino used the soundtrack on his movie Inglorious Basterds. Great track by Charles Bernstein. He used it when Hans Landa met Shoshana in the restaurant after her meeting with Goebbels.
@AngelofMusic04

That was also how I discovered "The Entity". I remember sitting in the theater opening day for "Inglourious Basterds" and the whole audience gasped and jumped out of their seats from the combo of the jump cut to Col. Landa standing behind Shosanna and the suddenness of the music. I shuddered a little harder knowing where the music came from and the thematic context Tarantino was bridging.
James you're absolutely amazing. Keep it up!
I’m loving this series! Yet again a wonderful, funny, passionate and beautiful human visiting us from the wwe world. I don’t watch wwe but I feel stronger and stronger that I ought to give it a chance. Thank you James for always giving us excellent content!!
I recommend WE SUMMON THE DARKNESS it's on Netflix. I know James loves rock and horror, it's a combo of both.
same i watched Entity really young, no 28 and still cannot cope soon as i hear the music, made me shiver hearing it in the clips on this vid
I love The Entity. I first saw it when I was 14 and never forgot it. Great cast, great story. Loved it as a teen and still do. And the boyfriend is played by Alex Rocco, of Godfather fame as Moe Greene.
She was talking about her mother and father and all I could think about was Nick Frost and Lena Heady

The music of the Entity always stayed with me as well, did you know Quentin Tarantino sampled it when introducing Hans’s character at the dinner table in inglorious bastard’s. My shock when first viewing and hearing it was threw the roof!
Omfg I watched The Entity when I was young but I couldn't figure what it was called. The effect they're talking about blew my mind and I haven't known the name of the movie to look into who did it or how it was done. Crazy!
Me the whole time: "PAIGE! Look out! There is an Entity behind you in the corner!"
That Pikachu sure moves around hers and Ronnie's house a lot lol.
Btw, it case anyones curious about the “pounding bass song” they keep mentioning, the song is called Relentless Attack and it’s number 10 on The Entity ost
OMG GEEKING OUT! Love Paige!! I also had never heard of this movie before so I had to watch it before your episode!! MAD PROPS to James for finally putting a name to that CU shot.
