Paid In Full: The Shocking Truth Behind Reparations | Virgil Walker

In my view, assigning a monetary value to the abhorrent practice of slavery may be an insurmountable challenge. However, a discerning examination of history reveals that the U.S. federal government has made greater efforts to address this issue and satisfy its debt than any other government in the history of the world. As it pertains to money and materials as reparations owed to black descendants of slavery, the United States government’s ledger should unequivocally read, “paid in full.”

*May Jesus Christ have Mercy on whom He will have Mercy.* Amen. As a 59 year old Black American, I've traced my ancestors back to around 1700s (then gave up). I thought about how I got here to this land; probably stolen by African tribes and sold to White traders and brought here. People who want to believe in Christ today in Africa are either getting Catholicism (yuk) or even worse versions of the False Megachurch pastors (double yuk) you see here. When I look at the whole of Africa with the rampant witchcraft, voodoo, "ancestor worship", sun/moon worship, praying to the East, demonic practices and conditions... I realize Jesus Christ gave me the "reparations" my parents and I needed... Salvation. I wouldn't want a single dime from this country my ancestors helped build.. I thank Jesus Christ that I don't live there with the coming Judgment. This was not an accident. This was not anything my ancestors did to deliver me. It was Christ. I see it all now. And in these Last Days, I am eternally grateful to my Lord and Savior to see the things that all my White and Black brothers and sisters do NOT see. Now I watch and wait. Romans 10:9

I have never heard the advocates for reparations acknowledge the ongoing slave trade and sex trafficking orchestrated by Muslim countries. You are right that the American slate should read "Paid in full." I would connect to that debt-paid is the other point you made about more than 600,000 Americans died in the Civil War which is more than the number of Africans brought to the 13 colonies. It is appropriate to acknowledge America's past failures, but it is horribly one-sided to ignore America's past and current successes on ethnic issues. Soli Deo Gloria.

Agreed. And this is not really about slavery in America. It's nothing more or less than a money-grab opportunity for political purposes. Those supporting this are nothing more or less than thieves. Working people, both white and black, would never advocate stealing from innocent people, regardless of their race. But these people are degenerate thieves, no different from the mob or Nazis or the K-lan who make excuses for their own failures while abusing others and/or robbing them in broad daylight. Their virtue signaling means nothing. They want something for nothing. Just like Jesse James.

  • @peggysummers1078

This is the clearest, most logical argument against personal reparations I have heard. Well said. One correction - in Mt. 18:21-22 - "21 Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven." You quoted it as "seventy-seven times". Jesus said to forgive 490 times. Of course, the point is to keep forgiving - but 490 is still much more than 77. Legacy Standard Bible (Mt 18:21-22). (2022). Three Sixteen Publishing.

Glad you referenced Exodus as well as other sins God has frowned upon in relation to slavery (and other sins) and clarifications of the Scriptures on this topic. The Exodus instruction hasn’t seemed to get any attention as men and governments seem to be selective about quoting the Bible for their own ends. You gave us a great message that cannot be disputed with any prevailing irrational arguments from history or in this day and age.

For real reparations: they identify an actual victim of the offense in question. They specify the abuses and damages. They assign a dollar amount for their compensation. They pay the victim. If the victim is deceased; they identify the closest living legal heir and pay them. What is the name of the slave that you are trying to collect the unpaid reparations for?

Jesus was BROUGHT FORTH from eternity-God (Proverbs 8): [22] The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his [the Father’s] works of old. [23] It was Jesus who was set up from everlasting [God the Father], from the beginning, or ever the earth was. It is God the Father who is life everlasting (John 12:49-50). [24] When there were no depths, Jesus was BROUGHT FORTH; [26] Jesus was BROUGHT FORTH before the Father had made the earth and the fields. [27] When God the Father prepared the heavens, Jesus was there… [29] When God the Father gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass HIS COMMANDMENT: when the Father appointed the foundations of the earth… [30] THEN was Jesus by him [with the Father], and it was Jesus who was daily his delight, rejoicing always before the Father. For whoso findeth Jesus findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord [the Father]. But he that sinneth against Jesus wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate him, love death.

@@ADadSupreme Scripture says "study to show thyself..." "Be ready always to give an answer..." Like the Pharisees with Jesus & Steven had self hardened hearts, the way sin hardens our hearts Hebrews 3 ("And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over..." Romans 1:28, before that note Romans 1:18-26 look at what they did to themselves) & what will happen ("... because they did not receive the love of the truth...2 Thessalonians 2:10), Pharaoh hardens his own heart multiple times (Exodus 7:14, 7:22, 8:15, 8:19, 8:32 & 9:7) before the Lord hardens it. Many scholars mention he allowed his heart to be seared as with a hot-iron. Calvinism conflates God's Sovereignty with Absolute Determinism. God's foreknowledge of all events does not make Him the causal agent of all events (see Jeremiah 19:5 for one of many examples). Would you read an overview of Romans if I took the time to type it out? (maybe 4 paragraphs, less than 2 minutes to read). If your mind is made up that Calvinism is true I won't bother.

I agree with a lot that's said, except the US Civil War wasn't fought to free slaves but much more to crush the South and stop the Southern states from seceding. Left alone, the South would have eventually abolish slavery like all other Western countries. So much for US belief in self-determination!
