Paid $1,815 for this Collector's Locker... what's inside? I buy abandoned storage units at auction
Locker Nuts episode 477
I bought this unit last week at an online storage auction for $1,815. Since I was leaving on vacation, I jammed it into my Sprinter van where's it has sat, waiting for me to dig in. Well now is the time, so let's get to cracking those boxes open and see if we find a motherlode of Hummel collectibles. Let's find out together on this episode of Locker Nuts.

24:58 that Munich 1972 Olympic patch is going to have some interest from both historical and Olympic collectors, due to the Munich Massacre.
The pens with the "round thing" on the top are used to dial a rotary telephone. The Bell Telephone company employees used them. The conversion to Touch Tone telephones made these pens obsolete.

I think the switch from metal to plastic dials may have killed them.

My mom worked for the phone company since she was 18 & born in the 30s! She was 36 when she had me in 1970 she passed young & took early retirement in 1985! Boy I bet her world didn’t know what to think about our changing world! She was the Bread winner in the family & I miss her much!
Hand made recipe books was how we did it back in the day. No internet to search for recipes 😀

while watching I always hold my breath when you find documents, birth, marriage , death , and you try to find family to return. what those sources mean to genealogy, and family is , unmeasurable. your so good about donations, you could donate to a local genealogy center if you don't find anywhere to send them, like you don't have enough to do in a day ! ! I do enjoy watching ! !
Whoop whoop!!!! Welcome back "20 years younger looking' Jack. Love the hair!
Crazy Lamp Lady on KZread specializes in glass especially vintage. She maybe able to help you identify some of your pieces. I have also heard her talk about Homeco in her videos. They are sought after by collectors.

Your hair looks fab. Ya'll have a great weekend. We luv your videos.🌼
Regional cookbooks done by local people often sell well. Sometimes the recipes are credited to the person who donated it.
The two wooden pieces that were with the pans are used in making apple sauce or things of that kind from fruit to keep the seeds out.
Ok my gosh!!!! You look so much better! So clean cut!!!
Like the haircut! About time lol
The green stuff with the butterflies for plants is called Macrame.
The Skunk Patches are the Logo for Lockeed Martin SkunkWorks. And the Bell System pens with the ball on them are for dialing a rotory phone.

Your haircut takes years off you dude! Looks great 👍 must be a lot cooler too, and nowhere for locker bugs to fall 😂😂
Nice haircut. Love all the things you're finding bringing back memories.
The clear dishes with leaf pattern are Princess House crystal. Fantasia collection.
Those church/community cookbooks are my favorite! Very interested in those.
Those Christmas figurines are HOME-co, used to be Home Interiors in the 80's and 90's. They are collectible.
ball blue book is about all kinds of canning plus wonderful recipes. To me it's a keeper. oh also freezing.
That copper thing is a head scratcher. They sell cheap looking ones at the dollar tree. I know it's crazy but that's what it is.

Nice haircut :) I’m sure it feels a lot better now .
Jack at 28:14 that is an art deco era dresser powder box. I've had and sold several. They came with various lid designs and sell for about $15-$20.
Jack if you have a Kenmore sewing machine, the attachments from the sewing box should go with the machine, Most attachments are machine specific and won’t fit any other machine, especially vintage machines.
yahuuuu a 54 minute video, i am going NUTS thank you.
the Pens with the ball on the end were used to dial rotary phones with "Bell" could have been the telephone company

Bell Telephone Company 1877 to 1984. My cousin still has a rotatory phone that she uses every day, she doesn’t like push button phones or internet.
You just gotta look up all those Hummels!...and those Gobel pieces.. Don't loose money on this stuff
I'm a Neil Diamond fan, and that double CD has great sounds!---51:00 I made one of those ceramic pieces when I was taking ceramics lessons in the 70's. It's great for holding anything that is long: art paint brushes, pencils, crochet hooks, etc.---I imagine it feels pretty strange to have your locks shorn, but I prefer this to the other!
That teak wood fruit are souvenirs military wood bring back 60s early 70s.The one you got is more desirable auction or eBay it imo.
I would look the patches up individually some group specific patches can be quite valuable .
Quite the locker so eclectic everything has a buyer just so much work lugging listening & shipping good luck with this diamond in the ruff! To all of the Locker Nut Family including Momma G ,ect.. & Subscribers Be Well,Safe & Stay Blessed!
OMG... you got your hair cut! Wow... looks good and beard trim is super!
Great channel just started watching, you make it feel like we are actualy there with you opening treasure boxes. thanks,Glenn from Brisbane , Australia.
The wooden spike things go with the metal pieces they were with it is a grinder set, there is usually a terry cloth piece that fits inside it to catch the seeds and bigger stuff.
Never seen Goebel dishes for sell, but the style is definitely popular right now. Wonder how they would do at vintage market.

Butter or cheese server, if the glasses and bowl tells me anything it could be fruitsalad and cream servers.
I keep paper recipe clippings but never thought about using a picture album to put them in. One great way of preserving them
17:27 Those bits of paper in the doilies are from the punch-outs when they were stamped. 25:30 Did I see a Skunk Works sticker going into the box under the table?! It sure had a skunk on it - Lockheed's top secret division that made the stealth fighter. 38:00 Goebel is the manufacturer who made Hummels.
Wow! Jack! You look 10 years younger! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
those paintings of Paris are sold along the banks of the River Seine, near the tower, I have a set exactly the same that i bought there.
Hi Jack, some very interesting items in this unit so far, and obviously many more to find, with what you still have in van. Think the dishware is beautiful.
those bells are a typical austrian souvenir. My grandparents had those, the sound made me quite nostalgic I like your new haircut, it suits you well

You got me to join with this locker lol... see you at the auction.
never stack stuff on top of records like they break and warp
Haircut looks great! Those copper colored butterflies you found, I have those exact ones from Home Interiors. Friend of mine used to sell it and I have several pieces I bought from her. Can't wait to see what else you find in this unit. Very interesting so far.
Plastic knives are for cutting lettuce, because contact with metal creates brown spots in a day or so.
Wow i don't think i have ever seen your hair that short nice haircut Jack!
My husband works for Lockheed and I have seen the stealth plane when they had a family day at the plant, you couldn’t get close to it because they had military guards around it. It was a cool experience to see it as well as other planes that they build.
Those wood items are for canning. Strain tomatoes
@alanatolstad4824

Can also be used for making riced potatoes, fruit for jams/jellies. There should be the strainer with its stand in that collection somewhere, otherwise, why have 2 mallets kept separate?
The copper colored spider-like device with little balls on the end of each wire is a crushed head massager - no joke! The little wires were once springy and had tension so when you would apply it on the top of your head and then push down and pull up, it would massage your head and relax you -- it's a shivery kind of feeling!
Can't wait to see more! And I love these long ones 😊
Love the new look. Two thumbs up.
Sunset published single subject softcover cookbooks. Some of my favourites. That hardcover Best of Sunset looks like a compilation of the smaller books. Those and Southern Living, for sure, are auction material, for sure.
Wouldn't some of those "coffee table" books sell well at the vintage market.
As an air force officer from the 80’s & 90’s, all this stuff is making me long for the good ole days! You’ve got a gold mine there!
The box that has something that looks like a colander and had 2 wooden things, that all stays together, the wooden things push vegetables like pumpkin that has been baked or boiled gets pushed through through the holes to separate seeds and other things , to make pie etc. keep all sewing stuff together, it was kept together for a reason
I like the new clean cut look.
You have said cool so many times it’s snowing in my house. Lol just kidding. I love hearing your reactions to stuff you find.
The wire thing is for scratching your head. The wooden plunders are for sieving tomatoes. The black plastic knife is a lettuce knife.

You look much younger with your new haircut...love the cut!!!
What a gorgeous cat!
I have the oil painting of the Thos Kincake plate. I love it. Maybe I'll catch it on the auction. PHASE 10 is also available as a dice game. The plastic knife is for cutting lettuce so it doesn't turn brown
Mechanical pencils--Bell Telephone? The ball on the ends were used to dial old time phones--the ball fit into the holes.
Hooray! You got your hair cut! So good to see.
Your haircut looks great. It makes you look at least ten years younger. Now your handsome face is the focal point.
The copper wire thing with the marble on the end is a head scratcher. Hold above your head and lower it up and down. I used to have those home interior butterflies.
Loved the voiceover at the beginning! Goebel is a great find! Definitely some value!
Your hair looks so much better. Looking good Jack!
1972 Olympics Patch may be more valuable than any of the others because that was when the 11 Israeli athletes and coaches were killed in the Palestinian Massacre.
Hey you got your haircut ... love it
Check the Chicago albums!!! If they are embossed covers, they are first editions and worth much more than the repressed with non-embossed covers.
I love the vintage stuff... especially the 1972 calendar.
Pampered chef plastic serrated knife. Those are used for cutting lettuce and other vegetables that turn Brown if you cut them with metal. Thank you for sharing another adventure. I pray God continues to bless you and your's Amen
Handsome dude Jack - looking great. Thanks for the vid interesting items the patches will be in demand for sure 👌👍
