Pahiyas Festival | Lucban, Quezon | Higantes |

Pahiyas Festival is a colorful feast celebrated every 15th of May by the people of Lucban, Quezon in honor of San Isidro Labrador. It is the farmers' thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest with a grand display of colorful rice wafers, fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts adorning every house in the town (Wikipedia).
Fernando Cadelina Nanawa started making higantes in 1988 for additional attraction during the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon. Now, the higantes has roared in Metro Manila and other provinces giving joy and excitement to many events like fiestas and corporate events. The first higantes was made of rattan, bamboo and wood but to keep up with the times, our higantes are now made of aluminum frames for a lighter lift and easy mobility.
