Hi Prashant ji. I completely agree with your demonstration. I learnt my driving in Mizoram around 26 years back on Gypsy(Maruti) and Commander (Mahindra). The points you mentioned are a very important part of hill driving.

Thumb rule is the gear in whic you drive uphill you also maintain downhill, never put your vehicle in neutral downhill. Never overtake on a turn. Park your car in gear in the opposite direction of the front, nose downhill park in reverse gear, nose facing uphill park in first gear.

(A) Agreed (B) There is a better and correct way to climb hill from zero using hand brake: 1) Put the hand brake ON 2) then put the vehicle on half clutch accelerated as u have shown when it is on half clutch (note vehicle will show more vibration on half clutch) 3) And then remove the hand brake (C) Always remember to us the same gear on downhill same as used during uphill in that particular location.

Well demonstrated Prashant ji..it usually happens the same way when one visits fm Plane & it becomes more tough & risky when one is driving with 5-7 capacity & lower down the gear while completing turn or after loosing the power in higher gear due to full passanger capacity in the car. In hills body on frame chassis also behave differently visa vis to plane..for which normally who are not much technical..faces issues of loosing control.

Good to see you again on the channel Prashant Bhai. Absolutely on dot about turning on corners in the hilly region. The momentum and holding the line helps a lot, specially when the vehicle is loaded and heavy with weight. In my personal experience driving around corners, specially on 4 high, the steering becomes quite stiff. I always prefer to drive on rear wheel drive mode, specially while climbing and on downhill I use engine braking rather than actual brakes. Your driving experience is commendable and your videos are always a pleasure to watch and a learning experience. Live Long N Prosper 🖖

Prashant Ji.. Planning to buy Gurkha next month.. People say there is a problem with ground clearance. Car gets hit at bottom while driving on off roads. Can there be a damage to it due to it? My question is - Is it true? Please suggest.. Thanks
