A tour de force of the Pages app! I wasn’t fully aware of of its potential; now I realise that it’s an extremely useful tool, and this gentleman took it through its motions brilliantly.

Matthew a year late, but thank you for this tutorial. Amazing presentation. There are those of us who have immediately purchased other word processing software (notability etc) not realizing how clean and integral a propriety software can be.

Holy crap. I was not aware that clicking the word count button at the bottom of the screen gave you some useful options. Thanks. I am now a fan.

Great video. I design books for a living. Most novels are very simple as far as layout goes and I have found Pages to be an ideal replacement for Word. If you need more functionality, there are some rather complete word processors in the app store. Pages is a great way to go because it gives tou most features writers need. That said, most writers writong for legitimate publishers only need to create plain text documents.

I couldn’t figure out header and footer when I used an iPad . The rectangles never popped up. It’s not three weird on a MacBook or iMac . I couldnt figure out print preview either . So disappointing

Great tutorial regarding Pages. I was not aware that you can do all these good stuff with pages. I've always used MS word and excel due to our company standards. I will be using pages on my personal stuff from now on since MS office is now charging monthly fees. You got a new subscriber and can't wait to see more tutorials from you. Thanks a lot.

Please make a Pages tutorial on how to make a flyer or postcard like the real estate postcard template. I am having difficulty making multiple pictures the same size. As well as the border lines in between each picture or text box the same size and lining everything up. I noticed in your video the yellow guidelines show up on the outside edge as well as the center. Mine only shows up on the center. I’m not sure if I have a setting not quite right.

Also if I create a document with photos and turn it into a word doc or pdf , will someone with a non apple computer be able to read it then? As you can see I am pretty new at this.

Excellent presentation on Pages on iPad. I have only 1 minor problem with headings and subheadings. I have created a long text document and I am using 2 different colours in subheadings in the option ‘Gradient’. If the subheading is only 1 line sentence it is fine but if it goes onto 2 lines the colour completely changes on the 2nd line into plain colour. I have also tried in a table but with no luck. I hope you can help me. Thank you and king regards.

This was a very useful video although it did not share what I was looking for. I wanted to know how to add documents from other sources to your pages. There are times the information is subdued and it will not save. Is there a certain format that needs to be used I order to save content ?

A friendly suggestion: do a breakdown of the content in the menu would be super useful. Its discouraging to try and look for a single function you might have explained here. Basically you’d gain more views and likes bc you dont have to see the entire video. I didn’t see it for this reason

Mathew, I was following along with your tutorial until I got to the drop cap options, my pages app’s drop down menu does not have this selections under text. What version are you using as a demo?

You mention, that you do not need to put the entire video but I’m wondering how to portion down that video in your document. So that you are not adding the entire KZread video. Great tutorial. I have just bought a new iPad and need to find my way around Pages. Previously I just used Pages to store my songs (musician). I have transferred most songs from old iPad to new one via iCloud but lost some along the way? I also note that when I open a document in the new version of Pages, a duplicate file is automatically created. Can this feature be turned off?? Many thanks again. Lastly, could you recommend an external Keyboard for the new iPad?

I have a Zagg keyboard, it is part of a heavy duty Ipad case ad it is wonderful. Got it at Best Buy.

I wish pages had KB shortcuts for the paragraph styles so I would not have to lift off the KB.

Tutorial is great but I still can’t rename my files. When I use the rename option I get, “this operation couldn’t be completed because the feature is not supported” Apple just says ‘use the rename tool”… Have you come across this issue?
