2:17 Exactly my case! I ordered it (blue too) just because I wanted a 200m WR beater and it was only U$ 47. Once it arrived and I put it on, felt SO great! My smaller 17,55 cm (6.9 in.) wrist sports it really well (visually, looks the same proportion as yours on the video, go figure). BTW: I got the official PD bracelet and it wears REALLY comfortably. No finishing issues with mine. And the dial design slowly grew on me and it is not an issue anymore. Great video.

I’ve been bypassing this one for months, finally broke down and ordered this week.

Ordered a black one for 60 bucks. I got already like 4 Pagani's. Lately Pagani Design had a boost in quality, yet somehow still keeping it below any reasonable price. I got blue Zeppelin Flatline open heart, opening is lower and sub dial at 6 is seconds, so that would be a nice addition. Love Panerai-ish look, searching for a decent submersible knock-off with stainless bezel and proper crown guard.

Nice review. This wouldn't be my favourite, like you, not into open heart watches, but definitely some will like it. It's actually not so difficult to get 24mm straps nowadays, at least here in Europe. I actually got my first PD ever, arrived yesterday, the Version 4 Moonswatch Mission to Uranus version and it's great. I had a direct comparison as I bought the original Moonswatch Uranus, (silly me) and I couldn't wear it. It's trash. Felt like an adult wearing a children's toy, but liked the colours so much the PD scratched the itch as it's the same look but 10 times the quality for less than half the price. Bracelet isn't great on it, but who cares, the watch is exceptional for the price. I put it on the gifted nato supplied, but waiting for a nice white leather strap I ordered. Just realized I had subscribed to the channel but forgot to hit the bell!

Nice review and as a watch newb I am very surprised how I already own 4 Paganis...hahahahah I have this blue one on order and mostly I like the squarish case which led me to also buy a PD YS014 PAGANI DESIGN in a gold case with brown strap. Tremendous value.

Steve, great video. A little too big for my taste but nice looking. On another note, you have to tell us what size crystal does the Pagani PD 1701 use in terms of size, It looked great with the changes you did to it. Maybe a future video of the mod could be great. Best regards

From my Corgeut speedy. It fits, but it wasn't a perfect fit.

Why do you use the SN017 and the AD Willard as the lume comparisons? Are you using them as a reference/standard for good lume? Do they have some of the best lume that you've seen? Or, just some of the better lume among fellow Ali competitors? Curious.

Mostly just reference. I try to match types of watches, and those are just what I use most. SN017 is one of the better lumes from Ali. Addie's just shows how good you can get lume for under $100.

I can't help but noticing a hint of Panerai in the dial and bezel. I don't mind the size but the combination of the open heart and the 24h dial it's a bit too much.

A couple of years ago, I purchased a Bronze Phoibos with an open heart. I think I may of been the only person that did lol. This Pagani looks kinda the same, and weirdly I really like it. It's ugly in a strangely good looking way, if that makes any sense, the same as the Phoibos !!!???

Indeed. Ugly pretty. Good from far, but far from good. It's a 3 foot watch, don't get closer than 3 feet....I can go on 🤣 Honestly it's not that bad, just a weird mashup of styles

Is this watch a tourbillion? And I am from India and planning to buy it, but I am not sure if people here can fix if any issues are to be faced with the watch

No, not a tourbillion. This is called an "open heart" basically a hole in the dial and movement show off the mechanism. It's a solid Seiko movement, no reason someone in India couldn't replace or fix the movement.

What an unusual watch. While I think an open heart can be nice on a dressier piece, I am not a fan of them on sportier watches. It's too incongruent to the overall design of the watch for me.

You definitely need a watch this big, if not just slightly bigger for a wrist of your size. A bigger watch looks better on a bigger wrist. I have a large wrist as well, and I always used to wear an underwhelming average size watch. It wasn't until my trip to the Netherlands a watch shop owner pointed out an "average size watch" on a bigger wrist gets lost and looks underwhelming. But a bigger watch on a bigger wrist looks like it belongs.

"wear what you like" I always say. I prefer my watches in the 38-41mm range. Anything outside of that range they start feeling too big/small. But it's all personal preference.

Not my style neither. Like you, I don't like the open hearts. And it's definitely too big for my wrist (17cm). With a diameter of 38-39 mm, without open heart (and a better finishing, better loom 😅), I think I'd like it. Thanks for the great review, Steve 👍

Yeah, I like the case style, I'll be keeping an eye out for a 38-39 maybe even 40mm cushion case like this. I reviewed the tandorio a while back at 42mm it was just a touch too big as well, but that was a much better and cleaner design.

Big seconds hand is for chronograph only. Subdial at 6 is the regular seconds hand...so yes, it was working.
