    I have never seen a more easy-to-follow instruction for using RDP tables. These were hell to learn when getting certified.

    The absolute best video for explaining dive tables. I don't dive a lot, but when I do, I always struggle with my tables. Thank you for taking the time to post this great video. Happy Diving to you.

    Thanks for the comment Luiz appreciate it and glad it helps, if your computer were to malfunction atleast you could work out if another dive is safe or not so well worth knowing! Keep practicing 👍

    Hey Novin many thanks for your comment, I’ve seen a lot of instructors struggle to teach this in an easy format and confuse students unfortunately, once you get the hang of it it’s really easy and a valuable skill if you don’t have or can’t afford your own computer. I’m glad it’s helped you 👍

    This is a really great video but there is one mistake concerning the info on the back of the card. The bottom number is the "adjusted maximum dive time".. You do not add this to your residual nitrogen time to get your new allowable dive time.. That is you do not add 18 + 38 to get 56 minutes of dive time.. That would be dangerous. Your maximum dive time is simply 38, or the bottom number. So keep your second dive time under 38 minutes and then add whatever this number is to 18 (and yeah the rest is explained well to find your new pressure group at that depth).. The point is, for your second or third etc. dive, just look at the bottom number and know this is your newly adjusted max dive time. Why this also doesn't make sense with this explanation is that why would they make people do another step and add the two numbers? Then take this number and add it to another number. You only need to add one time.

    Hey Brian thanks for the comment and yes you are correct the bottom figure in blue is the maximum allowable dive time for any additional dive! Maybe it was not explained in the best way but it was meant to simply describe that the 2 figures add upto the same figure as the maximum allowable time on the front of the table! thank you for making it clearer to everyone the max dive time in this example is as you say 38 minutes 👍 😀

    Also, on the part with the SI times, what is the difference between the top number and the bottom number?

  • @TheDiveLine

    @TheDiveLine

    3 жыл бұрын

    There are 2 times in the surface interval section, and your SI will fall between these 2 times, for example you may have had a surface interval of 45 mins, the 2 times may show 0.40 0.50 and your SI falls between these. 👌
