New diver just taking my e-learning before any dives. You took the mystery out of how to calculate dive times, residual pressure, etc. Great instructor that speaks in easy to understand terms! Thanks!!

It's just amazing how some instructors are gifted teachers, as you are, and others are not. As a person with dyslexia, I struggle to juggle the numbers, but the way you've just outlined these dives, I get!!! Thanks a million, and I will now be sharing you with my other dive buddies. :-)

Awesome videos. Having learned this stuff on my own, I didn't have an actual RDP table to refer to, and this helped me immensely. Just 1 thing, you incorrectly state that someone has to stay out of the water for 12 hours after exceeding a no decompression limit by less than 5 minutes, but it's only 6 hours.

You are right Mike H... In this case the diver must remain out of the water for at least six (6) hours instead of the twelve (12) mentioned in the video. In this case the No Decompression limit was exceeded by no more than 5 minutes, so 6 hours at least out of the water would be enough. Great explanation by ScubaNashville!

Great example! Just to emphasize the comment by Mike H about staying out of the water for at least six (6) hours instead of the twelve (12) mentioned in the video. In this case the No Decompression limit was exceeded by no more than 5 minutes, so 6 hours at least out of the water would be enough. Great explanation ScubaNashville!

On the second dive, you were supposed to stay out of the water 39 min. When you calculated the next dive instead of .39min, you looked it up as 49min., if the proper time had been used you would be in pressure group P. On the bright side, you increased your safety margin.

Q1. What is the final pressure group. First dive: 67 ft for 26 min. Surface interval: 1:20 Second dive: 65 feet for 25 min. Surface interval: 1:30 Third dive: 37 feet for 59 min. Q2. What is the minimum surface interval. First Dive: 59 feet for 40 min. Second Dive: 40 feet for 50 min.

But this is how long you've stayed at that depth. What if you took a long time to ascend or is it understood that the ascent rate is a standard mph for this table to work? What about the air pressures around the world? Is this table universal or is it weighed upon the worst part of the world where at the best you actually get an additional 10 minutes?

This vid was actually useful. All the PADI people ever want to talk about is group. You're in this group. Well so what? This was the first vid to show the application of the group relative to avoiding mandatory decompression stop or planning for a longer surface int. so congrats on a good explanation. I don't understand the fear of a decompression stop, however. If your diving requires it, just do it. Why try and re arrange everything to always avoid 10 minutes of decompression?
